Hey guys. Pic unrelated. I'm stuck with a logo project. Answer this please - what object associations does the word Censorship bring up to you?
black tape

Crime scene tape, window blinds/curtains, those one-way mirror-windows.
And black tape.

Thanks guys. If anything else pops in mind, just drop it here.
Right wing politics
Mute symbol.
maybe play around with the idea of selective pixilation like when they cover nudity on tv?

That's a cool idea, but I have to do it with complete minimalism. No colors or shades, only lines, and there may be a filled object, but I'm only focusing on lines on this one.

Use cropping/cutting off a big chunk of the logo where it's still obvious what it is/what it says but most of it has been "censored"

I did exactly that in first sketches, but the client didn't like it. It looked pretty good to me desu.
VHS cassette
Pixelation, Security Cameras, Black covered Blocks (like for nudity), Black Marker Over Text, [Redacted]
a simple strike through the logo text might do

That's interesting. Can you go a bit more into this association?
A word in a sentence that doesn't follow the rest of the sentence's formatting or style.
So in a sentence like "GM can't compete", "compete" would be replaced by a word like "lose", but it would be in a different font or slightly different enough so the average person sees something is off about it

I think that might be a little bit too unintuitive. You typically want a logo that will resonate with as many people as possible.
