So I'm developing a font and I want to make some cash.
My idea was to distribute it for free, but not for comercial use / logo design, and then with google image search try to find companies which use my logo, and contact them that this is illegal, and squeeze them some bucks or else.
Could this scheme work?
>pick kinda related.
>try to find companies which use my FONT
Try a more Broadway sorta scheme.

Or just sell it on a font market. Mind you, there's probably 6 and a half billion fonts better than it.

Not really.
I've had something like that happen with a wallpaper I made.
A ton of people try to use it for their album artworks, or even to sell shirts and other shit.
On the one hand, you can threaten legal action, but they might call your bluff. And in some cases going to court just isn't worth the money. Plus I think if there's no credit at all to begin with, and they make a case that they didn't know who/where it's from, all they have to do is stop using it.
On the bright side, I got a few custom hoodies and shirts out of asking people to stop using it, and giving credit at least.
It's not really comparable to the money they probably make off the shit, but I don't make a living off of that stuff anyway. A lot of times, the people are pretty cool about it/
Besides, you have to count on companies and shit actually using your font. Which is probably unlikely.
