What is the best graphic-design software and why is it Affinity Designer?
I'm thinking about buying it.

Do it, you won't regret, it's like Illustrator but actually pleasant to use.

That depends on what area of /gd/ we are talking about, but it's definitely some software made by adobe.
Affinity Designer is to Illustrator what Mac is to PC
It's cute, simple and elegant but it's not meant for people at our powerlvl, we need the real deal and affinity designer isn't a powerhouse for sure.
It's nice for sketching with a wacom though, at least that's what I use it for.

Eh, I wouldn't use Illustrator for much more than logos, layouts, and posters.

I work in an PR&Marketing agency, so the work I do is mostly fairly simple, creating ads for social media, graphics for videos, and the occasional logo. (among other things). AD is perfect for this, and the smoothness of it's running blows AI out of the water. I've never found it lacking. It's one-off payment and the regular updates (which actually add useful features unlike in Adobe products) means that for me it's great.
