Hi /gd/
What music are you guys listening to when you're designing something? Or dont you guys listen to music at all while working on something?
Personally I like to listen to Nujabes, or something chill, can't work if it's something progressive. How bout you guys?
i just listen to talk shows or donald trump speeches while working on my shit
I also like that sort of music. It's mostly medium paced instrumental stuff that I can pedal my foot to, but nothing I really have to focus on. Arkasia is a good example. If it is something that requires precision and isn't tedious though I'm ok with silence
https://youtu.be/Q27UzUZuMMk
I too like listening to nujabes and other similar artists. I have a huge playlist on spotify (nearly 2000 songs). I can link that if you want.
Although I'm not trying to put a shameless self plug, I make similar instrumentals: https://soundcloud.com/tazlazuli

The Cat Empire
Not calm or artsy, just hella talented. Their energetic music is my go to when it's 4am and I'm trying my hardest to stay up to finish a project.

OP, if you like Nujabes, check out Nosaj Thing and Tokimonsta. Tokimonsta's older stuff is good, you can find her full albums on youtube.
>>282665
enough burial and i feel like im going insane tho
>>282574
+1 for slayer
Depending on the mood / how much in a hurry i am.
For a chill day louie bellson or thelonious monk are amazing. For a close to deadlines day, hardcore and trash metal
>>282513
you know /mu/ sometimes has sharing threads for people like you? You should try it, there is a thread right now if you are still here
>>>/mu/67779482
Some djent bullshit, intervals, periphery etc..
Depends on what it is. For creative stuff it really varies, could be anything. Anything from amped shit like 3 hour hardstyle/festival mixes/drill rap to dark and dusky like lorn or nosaj thing. For schoolwork I keep it calm like nujabes, flying lotus, purity ring. Sometimes silence.
i usually listen to music without lyrics: clasical when i need to focus, or weird shit like Igorrr or aphex twin when i'm trying to improvise, the rest of the time, when i'm doing stuff that doesnt require too much attention i usually put all my music in random
>>282464
Amon Tobin's "Supermodified" album.
I ALWAYS listen to albums/mixes while working

Hopefully someone will, I find it to be some inspirational shit and I cant help but groove and create.
Hope someone likes it, and validates my musical preference so I can feel good about myself on the internet.
Daedelus, and Bespoke specifically, has pretty much been my soundtrack for late night or all-nighters in college.

None, I find it really distracting. I rarely listen to music anyway though.
Anything lengthy doesn't matter what genre it is. Just need background noise going to get in the zone.
