Hello, I'll admit this is my first time coming to this board, but I need some help with Ai.
I have a project in my Intro to Graphic Arts and Design class that was due yesterday, but my teacher hadn't informed me of it (I missed the assignment date).
The project requires that we trace out sections of an image (attached in post) with the pen tool and color each section to create a "cartoony" look.
My question to you guys: Is there any fast way of doing this, perhaps without the Pen Tool? I've done a bit of research and the Magic Wand Tool seems to be my best bet, but it won't select anything on the image (The image isn't locked.
Thanks, and if threads like this aren't allowed, please let me know and I'll take it down.

Yeah the fast way to do it is with the pen tool
It would take you like 20 minutes to do, why so lazy?

Thanks for the reply
I'm generally very lazy, but if that's the fastest way, that's the fastest way.
Thanks again, have a nice night.

If you're too lazy to do a 20 minute assignment, you're never going to get anywhere.

I know man, I've been working on improving my work ethic.
I'm very new to Ai so what may take you guys ~20 minutes takes me ~2 hours.
If anyone is still here, why is this happening?

try using the image trace function. its at the top when you have an image selected click tje arrow and select 16 colour mage trace then press expand when its done

you have to learn how to use the pen properly yet
for removing those unwanted curves click on the points with the "white arrow" then use pic related tool (is one of the variants of the pen tool) and remove the curve
next time for asking basic stuff like this go to

pls
also, be aware of stroke options. It can save you some headaches. Pic some what related
