You've just been assigned to create a logo fo rthe new company name, Sterling Cooper and Partners; SC&P. What do you make?
I don't know.
It depends on what the client wants.
>>257840
>caring what the client wants
never gonna make it
>>257838
>>257838
>C&P
I've been here too long. I'd make something using a font like Arial Black but using an adhoc typeface if they're paying me enough.
>>257840
You show them what they really want.
I would go to Don Drapers office to discuss it, end up drunk and do something classy..
posting their original logo btw
>>258119
Why Deco? The show is set in the 60s and 70s. This looks anachronistic.
You're fired.
>>257838
Marshall, Carter & Dark would murder these nancies.
>>258120
>Why does it look like a cheap vector graph when the show is set in the 60-70s.
>>258120
needs more fonts
>>258297
Not sure.. But they probably know what they are doing and made some research/examples what logos look like in 60's.
>>258435
But it doesn't look like any logos from the 60's.
It look like a logo for a spar in 2003
>>258484
Secretly this was op's way to get a free logo for his business.
>>258522
nice try
>>258513
haha FU
>>257838
That'll be ten thousand dollars
>>258513
My exact thought.
>>258522
Best
How is this?
>>258653
Where's the logo? I just see text
>>258654
Its minimalist, the text is the logo.
>>258655
look I made you a logo
it's minimalist
>>258656
>>258654
>Believing all companies need little image logos.
>Lots to learn.
>>258582
That is pretty fucking genius, but probably too genius for the average person
>>258569
Right, rectangles next to each other with text at the right of it, I clearly couldn't have find it myself…
And btw that manjaro logo is awful, with that typeface it looks like juice bar logo.
>>258582
It's quite a bright idea. The only problem is that it's not immediately readable. A casual viewer would read
>terling
>ooper
>artness
But it's the most creative idea in this entirr board for sure.
>>258668
If a good idea doesn’t work, then it's not a good idea…
>>258582
>putting a pube on your business card
>>258582
The kernal of a good idea.
Develop it.
Perhaps making the first letter white outline and extend out from the line, and the rest black...
>>258673
eurostile is just too old
try forza instead
>>258678
Eurostile was new in 1960 that was my thinking.
my try #1
try #2
>>258673
best
Was originally named "Sterling Cooper". The ampersand overlaps the original name because it's an addition.
Second idea
Can't be bothered working on it, but you get my idea.
>>258666
nice damage control, satan
>>258705
Nice. I would loop the G through the ampersand though.
>>258720
I think a lot of people would and it wouldn't look bad. But it's also a bit forced. Restraint can go a long way, and I think restraint from extraneous flourishes is much more elegant in this particular case.
>>258724
I think it's worth a look.
>>258728
Not it reads as "Sterling & Cooper Partners," though,
>>258736
Fair point.
My early-mid 60s stab
>>258705
A logo in the 70’s would never be like that, it's impossible to reproduce in one color…
>>258808
Impressive, very nice....
>>258522
So nice
>>258785
How?
>>258522
Typeface sucks, but kinda nice concept. Dunno if it's '70s tho. Feels like there should be more spacing.
>>258653
They'd probably go with something like this. Elegant and simple, definitely has the look of a lawfirm and would look good on a business card.
Bit too simplistic for me though.
>>258751
>coolvetica
>>258947
Typeface doesn’t sucks… it’s helvetica.
>>259140
Typeface is more than just the font, pleb
>>259149
You’re mixing up typography and typeface, retard.
>>258120
partner bigger than Cooper. I could puke.
>>258283
>pooper
you mad man!
>>258675
Sterling, Puuber and Partner
>>258653
font source please?
really dig the &
>>258702
too high
S is way too narrow
it doesn't look centered bc of the open P
>>258751
MY EYES!
>>259211
No, you are obviously an amateurpleb. Go to designschool and actually learn it before you try to comment.
>>259211
Correct, it's not the typeface that sucks, it's the typography that sucks. Learn to kern.
>>258653
This actually is the best thing to come out of this whole thread. Good work.
>>259218
It's playfair display
