sometimes when your scene is too big it wont pre-load. i thin kyou can change stuff in the options under view.

put the marker behind the pre loaded green line and try playing it from this point.
otherwise render it and see if the finished animation has the same problem.

tried that too

luckily I was able to finish my starry effect. After it had been finalised and rendered, it played as normal for the desired time.

this is gonna keep bugging me until I officially fix it but thanks for your help

You don't have enough ram to do a full ram preview.
It previews what it cans and then loops itself.
Lowering the preview quality should extend your preview time (pic related)
Also, you can define your work area bar by standing on the timeline and pressing B (for the in) and N (for the out).
