i've met people in real life that i exchanged cards with
shows your level of professionalism. "i do graphic design" without a card....no one cares
with a great designed card, people get excited

If I am honest I have actually seen a lot of people using business cards. I think it just makes you look professional. Square is nice but many people put them in their wallets and that can be a bit ugly to look out when it does not fill the slot.
