Heya /gd/,
I am losing my fucking mind here. I am trying to export a photoshop composition as a *.dds, using NVidia's DDS Plugin for Photoshop. The output setting is DXT5 interpolated alpha, as it's a semi-transparent thing (It's an overlay graphics for a remote operated turret camera for a game I am modding).
Yet, when I save the file with the settings in pic related, despite having an alpha channel set and all (even manually adjusted, rather than merely selected from RGB), my file comes out black - or, 100% transparent. The MIP maps show up, but the actual texture does fuck all.
I've tried reinstalling both the plugin and Photoshop in my desperation. No dice. What is going on here?
Can you help?

Pic attached is the MIP map loaded after export in Photoshop (dem's weird) and the file previewed in Irfanview. It's black/empty.
The plug in is shit. Use Imagemagick.

The file I am making is a translucent texture, an overlay for a turret. The game is Space Engineers. The game vanilla overlays, and other modders have their own overlays. I just cannot get mine to export properly, despite setting alpha channel and export it as DXT5 interpolated alpha, as per instructions of the developer.
Pic related has the skybox, the model, and the overlay composed into a mockup of how it SHOULD look in game. Yet, it comes out as a blank image. There is no overlay at all. The MIP maps show data, but that's it. It is still blank.
The game natively supports alpha transparency from DDS files.
