Trendlist is actually a master project from a former student at my school. In some way I really dont want my work end up there since it's more important for us to do something new than rather "follow" a certain trend, no?

What you posted looks a lot different than stuff like >>243005 to me. It's got a great composition and the designer was clearly not ignoring rules of alignment, contrast and focal point. Doesn't feel as trendy.
