When was the last time you turned down a client and why?

Four years ago, the job wasn't doable within the timescale and they didn't have a clue what they wanted.

Wouldn't have taken my current but it was a good go between. Looking for a new one because they have me doing SEO work.

I refuse work all the time. Based on 3 criteria.

>Do I like the work?
>Do I like the people I work with/for?
>Is the salary/money good?

If its 2/3 or 3/3 I take the job.
If its 1 out of 3 I refuse.

There where a couple times where a company that I absolutely hated offered me a job with a salary that was more then I make in a year.
The look on their faces when I told them I didn't give a fuck was priceless.

i declined an offer few days ago, as the company i work for (as an accountant) found out that i do graphic design, so they asked me to design a logo for a new branch of the company.
i declined the job because they didn't know what they want. i designed three logos for them, and they kept asking to change this and that until i gave up. never work with someone so picky. they will make you feel insecure about your skill.

Early last year. Someone I knew from college asked me to do a series of 10 to 12 illustrations that was basically hipster Wheres Waldo for his ad company.
Everytime I asked him about things like the time frame to get it done, or payment, or, other conceptual ideas, he kept giving me vague answers, usually accompanied with two vague questions at the end.
After a few exchanges, I told him to find someone else, and to stop being so fucking vague when dealing with freelancers. That kind of shady stuff usually means its just someone trying to get free work out of someone. Been burned a few times that way.

I was happy to create a medium-big campaign for the church despite being a fedora myself. Fuck Jesus, I got top dollar and a good night's sleep.

Last year. Wanted to pay me less than a quarter of the going rate. Well, i might do that from time to time for a good cause or a friend. This guy sure wasn't one and the job was boring as well.
