I was inspired by the logo for Cracked Canoe beer... however I'm using this for an airsoft event.
pretty good concept albeit edgy however the content within the diamond feels empty/underused. If you're sending it to a cheap shop to get patches then fine but in general theres not much working here.
It's really harsh on the eye, because of the big white spaces in the logo itself.
Also it bothers the symmetri that the date is much smaller than the rest of the typography.
The font looks like shit too.
Which color would go best as a background color for pic related ?
I know it's actually simple and I would just need to "look at the fucking color circle", but I can't figure it out.
Blue looks like trash, as well as purple but I can't leave it white either.
Any recommendations ?
Thank you very much in advance !
Are there any tutorials to do your own?
Do you just used the ones available?
Shouldn't a GD create everything when making a portfolio?
I don't have a DSLR. I'm not going to spend a fortune on a body and several lenses for up close shots. I'm not going to waste weeks on tutorials to learn photography. So I download free mock-ups.
Hello /gd/. I am looking for help placing in a competition for a paintball gun. Making it to the second stage would be great! My design is on page 3 near the bottom, and an example of the rendered product is placed here.

I received this for Christmas. I have never done any graphic design or drawing on a computer. I used to love sketching when i was a kid. So my question is, which is the best user friendly software for a complete newcomer to use ? I read a lot of people are using Adobe Illustrator.
If this is what you think i should use which edition am i looking for ?
Also what is the best/easiest to use photoshop version/edition ?
P.S , I'd like to start trying to sketch some manga style comics. Also I would like to learn how to 'trace' photos of say, my girlfreind, and then color them with effects on computer if you know what i mean ? hope i am not sounding too retarded here but i am completely new to this.
I got a wacom intuos pro recently and my laptop that had photoshop cs4 died. I've windows 10 now and can only find photoshop to rent per month which is bullshit .. does anyone know what the deal with downloading photoshop onto windows 10 or does it call you on it ?
anybody is a mockup seller here?
I did a very good book mockup and I was going to subscribe myself to a website like the pic related one, but I realized that the .psd I'd like to sell has been made with a cr4ck3d version of PS... ops!
Do you think there's some chance this could be discovered (in some way like some id code inside the file or whatever) and put me in some kind of trouble?
Thanks for your answers and have nice holydays!
No problem: you have to become a wizard in the use of the advanced object. Many tutorials on youtube, just find a good one. You also need very good photographs, use a good camera and study how to use lights and backgrounds in the proper ways. Youtube tutorials are a good start, I reached nice results after a week and after a month I realized something at the level of the pic related.
So what are you guys working on?
Pic related. My friend asked me to make him an eclipse insignia. Playing with some ideas right now
I want to make a bootleg of the DG's Death Classic t-shirt
Do you think this'll look good printed, or is it too low quality?
What's the path to becoming a data visualization specialist? Can I make money if I try to become a Processing wizard? Does DV even fall under the realm of Graphic Design?
not an expert by any means but here's my thoughts on this
>What's the path to becoming a data visualization specialist?
i guess you could pursue data analytics, programming, probability and statistics as a foundation but unless you get accepted at draper most stuff could be self taught or with an online training course lynda has a good data vis course b.t.w
>Can I make money if I try to become a Processing wizard?
just found this
>Does DV even fall under the realm of Graphic Design?
yes it does it also fits onto computer science imho
i just hope someone with more experience could give his opinion on this
I have been programming in both languages (JS and processing) for quite a time and i can tell you that you have more options with JS.
i'm glad to help if you have questions, anon
Where do you guys get your free, copyright free, for commercial use line icons?
I'm trying to design a sticker for my good friend and I'm using x's as a design theme for reasons. And I just cant quite get the H down. Any ideas?
I'm going to be releasing an album soon and I could use a little help with ideas for the cover. I was planning on using a cropped version of this image I made, but I'm starting to think that it may need something else added too it. Any suggestions? Artist name is AA BonZaii and album title is Internet Jazz Hell.
What genre/style is your music? The point of cover art is that it's a visual representation of what your music sounds like, and when i look at your art I imagine some Flying Lotus type music but if he didn't know how chords, scales, or time signatures work. Not very appealing at all.
>Can you do better /gd/?
Show don't tell boyos!!
