It's a money sign "$" but with a "G" instead of an "S" since the name of the company starts with a "G." The two halves of the circle represent the exchange of money between two parties.
Any suggestions? It's for a class and it could clearly be better.

so ive mostly been lurking around here for some time now
but im getting really frustrated with my illustrator. The reason being my fcking Align tool doesnt work. if i selected objects or text or whatever (everything) and then click on one of
the align buttons nothing changes ive also googled the shit out of it but the only problem people seem to have is that it wont align
in the center. But for me it doesnt align at all.
please could somebody help me, i really want it to work ive even reinstalled it but still nothing happens. thank you

There are three align methods:
• Align to selection (which you have probably selected)
• Align to artboard (exactly what it says on the tin)
• Align to Key Object (with multiple objects selected, click an already selected object again, [not holding shift] and it will get a thicker selection outline, and the object will align to it)

Hey guys, I'm trying to find out who invented this artstyle. I found it on https://www.behance.net/gallery/12984019/What-Space-Really-Looks-Like and it was published no earlier than 2013.
Anyways, has the creator of this wallpaper also invented this style of color gradient/shading? What if I want to use a similar style?

Hey /gd/
I would like some feedback on a project, but I must I'm a web developer not a graphic designer. Or at least I'm trying to become one. I landed an internship with a small company but I'm not working with someone more advanced, I'm building a small site completely and putting my name on it when done. I want to make the best of it but really don't have design experience.
I don't want to do a massive overhaul, and I'm not quite in the final stage but you can see where I'm going with this. "Logo" will actually be replaced with an image that has yet to be produced. Be brutal if you must. Thanks

It's confusing and artsy (in the worst sense).
IMO a portfolio website should first and foremost communicate the work that it presents. Only after that it could become a work in itself. Otherwise it will just be an exercise and style without really being connected with what it's presenting. In this particular case I'd say it fails in both fronts, style-wise it kinda looks dated, adobe flash old.
You also have some text wrapping issues.

So you're riding that dutch bandwagon of designers pushing it through overlapping features, memorabilia styles and off-the-grid design, uh?
I kinda like it although the zero-responsive attitude. I confess I'm pro-responsive at any cost.
The only hitch I encountered is about navigating through projects when inside one (eg from pistolshrimp to pi). Seems easier to add steps inbetween: home - pistolshrimp - home - pi. Every click is gold these times.
