I wanna do Graphic design as my career, but my high school has the shittiest Graphic Design Class. What should I do to proceed with graphic design? I'm really passionate about it and wanna do it. I honestly don't know how college works. Do I have to pay for the classes after I do the basics?
hey. I'm in the same boat. If i were you I'd start studying to become an adobe certified expert and taking a certiport in whatever software you like. this'll look good on your college application. the exams are simple enough.
Rate my layout. Its for a made up skate company. I didn't have a choice in images or logos just the layout. Rate the logo too if you want.
Elegant layout anon, though I don't like the fonts you've used. Try something more modern in my opinion. Also, the logo and such which they've forced you to use look like they were inspired by a literally looking directly into a nightclub toilet.
Where's my thread about fictionnal logos?
Only the best. Honest
I want to buy a new Camero with a custom paint job. I want to see what it would look like with different paint combinations. Will you please show me what this car would look like with bright orange paint, and white and lime stripes or design on it? What about Lime with orange and green designs? white with orange and lime?
what the fuck is up with this meme? why is it a thing?
Looking for some help on these logos.
company name: S-Cross

How does /gd/ find work?
they do not. work finds them. if you're not in on it you will get to enjoy being in the "caste" system where some work will be outsourced to you. Of course credits will not go to you.
it's half this, and half being good at networking.
If you've done the networking right, then work will come to you.
All of my work comes through recommendations, I'm very lucky in that I don't have to look for work very often.
You need to make connections, and you need to keep those connections healthy. If you do that, then they will come to you when they are in need. You shouldn't be asking people directly for work. You should inform them of your specialties and making sure you are available when they need it.
Hey /gd/, hopefully someone with experience in sony vegas can help me out here.
I don't want the box I labeled to be transparent. I want it to be a solid yellow color. I have the compositing mode set to add and I've tried every other mode and I'm still not getting the results I want
It's an animated title I made in after effects if that's of any help
Aesthetically speaking, rate
>I dream scoped the same pic thru a bunch of diff filters
>used pic stitch multiple times
>filled the the boarder with a pic I had edited in doodleyou
original pic attached
This is a place to discuss topics about visual or graphic design. Requests for photoshopping or free work go in >>>/r/.

>What literature should I read to get into graphic design?
The sidebar on the /gd/ wiki has plenty of book reccomendations.
>What programs do I need to get started?
>Which program is the best for X?
It's usually subjective if you pick a program in each of the right categories above. Use vector programs if your making a logo/icon/illustraton, use bitmap programs if you're messing with a photo or stock image. Gimp, Inkskape, and Blender are free alternatives and have the same function as the paid programs but the paid programs tend to be used more in a professional enviroment.
>What font is used in this image?
Try these sites before posting a tread asking for fonts:
>Can somebody photoshop X? Can somebody make me a logo?
>>>/r/ is a better idea. /gd/ doesn't take requests or does free or even paid work sometimes. However, if you're new at something, asking "HOW can I X?" rather than "CAN YOU make X?" will give you better results.
>Can I post some of my work for critique?
There is usally a critique/What-Are-You-Working-On thread, and that is where work for critique go.
>Can somebody find [font]?
also check out your local torrent site or the font-share thread.
Remember to share and not just take. Also remember that using liscensed fonts in commercial works is a bad idea.
>Where can I find inspiration?
Does anyone know of a good tutorial for drawing with shapes in Illustrator? I've never used it before.
All I can find are tutorials how to draw shapes, not how to draw *with* them. I was wondering if there are tutorials on that or if it's something I'll have to figure out on my own.
There's no right or wrong way to draw with shapes. If you want to make something original than you will have to figure out how to do it on your own, I'm afraid. You have to treat it like problem solving or like a puzzle. You figure out what you want to make and then formulate what shapes you have to put together to make it.
Also, the graphic you posted is bullshit. The artist didn't use those overlayed circles. You can tell by looking at it that the illustration is made up of mostly squares with rounded corners. The overlayed circles and grid lines makes it look more complicated than it really is.
What kind of excercises do you guys do, if any?
What do you think about my artwork ?
I need me some cool ideas and inspiration for a logo I'm working on. It has to be energic, something that you'll remember and subtly remind you of weed. h4lp anyone?
>inb4 post the logo u working on
dude just find some leaves outside, scan 'em, import as bmp to any vector drawing program (inkscape recommended!) and click 'Path' -> 'Trace bitmap' -> and then mess around with some specifications and hit OK and BOOM vector logo reminding of weed
