hey /gd/ is my logo fine?
its a minimalistic take on the initials 'O O'
If it meant anything I might be able to comment
>>284330
it has already been done by a design firm in germany.
>>284330
an 'o' is round.
what you have 'created' are two squares.
i have no clue why the idea to create two circles to represent circular letters didn't occur to you. maybe it is because you are very, very stupid.
nobody would assume two squares are two 'o's' because squares are nothing like 'o's' and circles are exactly like 'o's'.
maybe try another industry? I hear mcDonalds is hiring!
Does anyone here know what the name of the typeface used in the "That's One Step for Man... One Giant Leap for Mankind" subtitle on this newspaper is called? I see it all the time on newspapers and the like from the 50s and 60s, and this has been driving me nuts for years
Am also interested bump

If a job ad asks for a B.A but you only have an associates and a strong portfolio, should you bother applying?
>>283936
I'm not saying I have a strong portfolio btw, I just meant hypothetical
Yeah, absolutely. No harm in it, the worst that can happen is you just don't get a call - which, if you don't apply at all, is what would happen anyway.
Also, a lot of job postings are written by HR and hiring managers who don't necessarily understand the nuances of a creative field like this. Have a strong portfolio and a good cover letter that shows you've done some research on the company and I guarantee you'll at the very least get a call, if not a direct interview.
>>283938
thats kind of what I assumed but I wasn't positive, thanks.
the only non B.A job listings I see are for entry level print or sign shops and I honestly wouldn't be opposed to working at one of those to get experience but I just didn't know if I'd be screwed in the long run without a B.A.
Hi
I need help with this, is a brazilian tech event.
do you wanna give-me any ideas?
>>283898
http://www.netpal.co.uk/
Something like that with Brazilian colours
>>283899
I to need use red and green.
Can anyone tell my what type of design this would be called
i guess cubism?
>>283585
Just flat color artwork
Not every piece of design follows a style with a name. Some people just create original stuff every once in a while.
>>284963
Cool
that's nice

Here you go OP, that'll be $400.
Let's collaborate.

Sup /gd/, I'm looking for a free use Saul Bass type of font, anything similar that has a ''pop art'' look. I'm looking for a font for my pop art project and I dont wanna use the good old comic book/Lichtenstein style of font.

Independent game developer here,
I've been fucking around with photoshop for a few weeks, and decided to take a crack at doing some graphics. The problem is... well, I'm shit at this.
No, this isn't a "fix muh shitty art pls" thread, I'm just looking for some critique and possibly advice to clean things up here.
Here's what I've got so far
>do your worst
What I'm going for;
>Futuristic, sci-fi esque theme
>Something which feels like it's generated by a computer system
>Something less... bleh.
Any advice, tips, critique, or anything of the nature would be really helpful. If I wanted to be complimented and told "oh its good for a beginner" all day, I'd have gone to leddit. I know what I've made is garbage, and I'm hoping that after listening to /gd/, the next iteration will be... less garbage.
>do your worst

>>284871
some context would help, what is it for?
to me everything looks bad, the flare in the center, the colors the proportions, too many white circles, the type isn't even readable...
i would start over just try to gather some inspiration and copy the things you like plus try to learn about color theory and composition.

What I take from this;
>Warm or cool colors; pick one
>Dim the flare significantly
>Less distortion on text
>Feather the warp links
>Feather the sector markers
wew lad
I didn't even know what I'm doing
How can I make this better?
The fuck is it meant to be lad?
bit of context.
Are you the guy that got the instagram graphic design assignments from his school?
Their direction is kinda weird to be honest.
About the piece: it's too artsy, Makes me think of werid hairgel commercials or something. Keep it simple, it's supposed to be an informative piece about speakers right? You wouldn't even need photos for this, let alone photos that are edited as extreme as those.
>>284864
Instagram banner m8. Those guys are (supposedly) guests for our talkshow
>>284865
Woah. Yup it's me. Are you they guy who helped me in the previous thread? Thanks a lot man. I guess being a slow board has its own merits after all.
Yeah dude everyone is weird here. That's the concept the media division wants, so I just need to comply. They really like those effect so my main problem now is to put the texts: their names and their job titles (each of them are founder of a company, so I also may to put their logo there)
btw here's their Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yes_ugm/
We're supposed to be one of the best business school in Indonesia, though the committee members of this event are mostly 1st or 2nd years lel
What do you make of this logo, /gd/?
>>>/ic/2695484
>>284819
it's an upside down flower spewing nectar
>>284820
it's a fuchsia. it isn't upside down.
>>284821
it's doesn't seems like a logo and it wouldn't work in black and white or in small scale plus the colors are too childish. what is it for?
I'm trying to throw together poster for a friends event.
I'm more into illustration and drawing, GD is definitely not my thing - as I'm sure you can tell. Please ignore all the bare bones parts of it and imagine something amazing instead of the illustration placeholder.
Would really appreciate ANY crit, be as rude as you want.
>>284773
Version without the squiggly shit on the Title, wondering if it's probably the better option
>>284782
;^)
Should I just get rid of the foil shit and make it simple?
Student project, redesigning circuscats.com, this is a logo "ve designed for them, any crit is welcomed.
The logo is too complicated overall.. Now I understand if the clients asked for details and such but remember that a good logo should be able to be resized to fit on a pencil without loosing its form. And why is it so pixelated? What program are you using?
it doesnt look like a cat ...
Made any sketches? Made some shitty ones.
Hey, don't know if this is the right place to ask.
I want to edit videos, I need a software that is easy to learn. does not need to have super complex effects just the normal (cut/transmission/slowmo/you know what i mean)
Thx for anything <<3
