Great if true

Catalan politicians are pedophiles and their politics in general are cancer

The normal website works for me (Finland). Wouldn't this censorship be actually counter-effective to the Spanish goverment? I imagine it would just fuel the fire for Catlaonian independence.

even if you do not agree this is a dangerous precedent to allow a government to censor things, what if the roles were switched? you would be screaming free speech.

Based on our constitutional rights the government has to provide his population with a house (not even shitting you) but they completely ignore this part of our constitution and instead they focus on how they can extract more money from our souls.

35% of Catalonia wants to split from Spain and be a country on itself
Instead of going the lawful way, the current governing party is following illegal practices

>We aren't going to let you near him if you keep asking difficult questions.
Do you have a source for that? Or did you make up this entire exchange in your head. Regardless, the secret service has every right to stop an individual from following around a a government official.

>they'll try to physically stop you from asking them in the first place.
There are press conferences, you can schedule interviews, and you can reach out to their office to get a statement or response to a question. You don't get to follow officials around and try to shove your way through security. This is how it works in literally any country.

>expressed purpose of taking your healthcare
Healthcare isn't a human right or an expression of freedom. It's a service someone has to pay for. I'm from a country that actually has universal healthcare, and it is absolute garbage. Most citizens end up buying private healthcare anyway. Guess who that hurts the most? The working class.

>Should the government be allowed to arrest journalists for asking questions at the wrong time?
That's not what's happening here, you fucking retard. You filter reality through your conflict theory lens, and that's why it's impossible to explain concepts to you. Journalists do not have free reign to move wherever they fucking please in government buildings. This would make actually governing impossible. If the secret service think you're a threat or that you're not allowed past a certain point (for example, you can't just fucking climb into the car a Senator is leaving in to ask him a question), you don't get to shove past them, dumbass. Kill yourself.

Why dont you want journalists to have freedom of speech? Are you scared that they might make daddy Donald look bad?

You're not allowed to ignore secret service, and you're definitely not allowed to physically push past them. Imagine if you shoulder checked a cop on a sidewalk.

Doesn't matter.

Trump is a cuck who loves jews and dirty spic kids. Tom Price agrees more with you than he does me. You can keep pretending you're fighting the system with something as milquetoast as healthcare.

You need me to explain why people shouldn't be able to be physically aggressive with law enforcement? You need me to explain why the secret service is allowed to keep people away from government officials? Because otherwise the entire point of having them is meaningless, and basic functions they need to perform are impossible.

If you want to say that you don't believe in the state using any physical force because it's violence, that is an entirely separate argument. If this journalist only asked a question from within a crowd and was physically removed, I'd agree with you. But that's not what happened.
>>
>>62485152
The original argument was that the US had no freedom of speech because of an aggressive reporter being thrown out by the SS. Now you're claiming your argument is simply "that it should be legal", rather than defending WHY it's an abrogation of free speech.
>>
>>62485152
That wasn't me, but see>>62484862
I never argued that people aren't allowed to ask a government officials questions in a public hallway. I said journalists aren't allowed to ignore instructions from secret service and try to shoulder check them to get closer to an official. You used a strawman.

>being a literal anarchist
You don't have the right to walk into my home without permission, nor do you have the right to trespass on a business property without permission. If a government is no more than a corporation that claims soverignty, as anarchists claim, why would you be allowed to trespass there?

If you don't believe that states should exist, that's an entirely different argument. And I don't really hold anything against anarchists (the non-communist kind) morally, but I still think you're a bit retarded.
>>
>>62485217
>The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, ensuring that there is no prohibition on the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble, or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.
Having the police physically remove somone from public property because of something he said is a violation of his freedom of speech. He resisted the police's orders, which he shouldn't have done, but the police shouldn't have given those orders to begin with. I have a feeling we're not even talking about the same thing.
>>
>>62485312
He wasn't removed because he was saying things. He was removed because he was pushing past the SS to follow a cabinet member into a restricted area. You can't just walk everywhere in the Capitol unescorted.

>Having the police physically remove somone from public property because of something he said is a violation of his freedom of speech.
That's not what happened. The secret service formed a physical barrier because they thought this guy was going to try to get closer to a government official, which they are supposed to protect from physical attacks. In response, he tried to shove past them. He was arrested for trying to push past them.

The press also doesn't have the "freedom" of making people answer their questions. They're not forbidden from asking them, but they're not entitled to a response. The journalist could have easily sent the question to his office via email or called in to get a statement.

>>62485328
The articles aren't clear if he was moving into a restricted area. They say it started in a public hallway, but don't describe anything past that and there's no video of the incident, only of the arrest.

So instead of just answering the question this guy had his attack dogs take care of this reporter, making just even more obvious he's trying to cover things up.

No, instead of going home and trying to contact Tom Price's office later for clarification on his question, he tried to tackle a secret service agent and was arrested for it.

>Wow you sure showed me.

As a Catalan myself I find this pathetic. I am not in favour of independence, but the attempt of stopping a completely democratic votation in a so called "democratic" country just saddens me. I can understand why some people want Catalonia to leave Spain.
>>
>>62486004
I don't think it's consistent with democracy that a subset of a country can elect themselves special privileges that take away privileges of others. If entirety of Spain was in the election, then the election would be consistent with democracy.
>>
>>62486357
>>62486004

It's like if bunch or rich people got together and elected themselves out of the obligation to pay taxes.

That's just some lame ass politically correct excuse, not even the UK pulled that bullshit on Scotland and this is coming from someone who considers Catalonians fucking rats.
>>
>>62486542

In UK, the UK government which was elected by the whole of UK including the people inside and the outside of Scotland allowed the election. This means that the will of the people in a representative democracy was to allow the election.
In case Spain. The government elected by the whole of Spain representing Spain does not allow the referendum. Which means the will of the Spanish people is to not to allow the election.
>>
>>62486669
>Which means the will of the Spanish people is to not to allow the election.
wrong, just because the government does something doesn't mean the people agrees with it

Representative democracy means you already agreed to it. Where do you think the government gets its power? You are the government. There are constitutional limitations of course.
>>
>>62486793
people who are alive today didn't agree to jack shit at the time that the constitution was written. the political systems in most countries is absolutely rigged. there is no provision that lets people have any direct legally binding effect on policy and such.
>>
>>62486819
Spain has a process that allows amending the constitution, right? Every so years you have elections that allow for the change of the representatives that can amend the constitution.
Vote people in who allow the secession vote.
