Apple is about to release first party ads
>>
based wow so open source
>>
>>62462735
Apple fanboy "friend" shilled this so hard. Apple will never be /g/ approved as open source has always been the holy, unachievable, grail for any device.

Fck apple

Haha Android has had that two years ago! Apple sheeps are always years behind

Mac is (still) ok for desktop if you can (want to) afford it. The mobile section has become fashion crap, though.

Have we just forgotten that Apple was one of the companies that did the NSA's bidding before the Snowden leaks?

They're saying this for good PR. That's all.
>>
>>62462744
They already have them, iAd existed for ages.
>>
They just want to hurt google ad revenue
>>
>>62463096
every tech company did. you should trust companies as little as possible. any notion that they're inherently loyal to you or to anyone is naive anthropomorphization on your part.
>>
>>62463117
iAd is pretty clearly not a serious effort on apple's part.

apple has figured that they can have a booming business selling hardware at a premium price point. they don't have to manage any data or employ data scientists or deal with ridiculous scaling costs.

i'm not saying that we can permanently rule it out, but apple happens to have found a business model that's orthogonal to the level of data mining and snooping that google, facebook, microsoft, etc... have made a major thread of their businesses.

They are getting better at shutting down torrent trackers, and porn sites now shut down shared accounts faster too.

Soon those where hording will have the last laugh as the plebs are left jerking off to two minute 480p previews.
>>
>>62463221

I mainly jerk off to camgirls and amateur shit anyways.

The only pro porn worth watching is BDSM.

I swear the iphone is going to be the death of the porn industry
>>

WRONG
>>

Also torrenting is a waste nowadays, games are bloated manatees of 60 gigs of uncompressed garbage. Music you can stream for free on anything, same with tv shows, i see all the time 24/7 tv show streams on jewtube. Movies from jewliwood are barely worth watching and software comes as a service and you only need to find a crack because you can get the main installer from official sites. Pirating is barely worth the hassle these days.

In case anyone is a bit foggy on why Apple would want to be so public in protecting the privacy of its clientele, try to remember who their clientele is. If Apple was at all suspect of being the bitch of the government and giving away user data for bad reasons, then they would compromise their entire image as a 'luxury brand' because no celebrities/businesspeople/etc would want to own one if they knew they were one shady warrant away from having their data put out in the open.

Apple isn't fighting the governments invasion into privacy because they care about privacy, it's because they want to be seen as the phone of the wealthy and powerful (which is a huge selling point for their consumers who are less than affluent). and the wealthy and powerful don't want to be using a product that isn't secure, or they'd just go to using blackberries again.
