I'm upgrading my TV after a decade. I currently have a 32-inch 720p TV, and I'm upgrading to a 43-inch 4K TV.
Does 720p/1080p content look like shit, blown up on such a large, high-def screen? I want to play vidya and stream without having to be right in front of the damn TV.
Don't be stupid, get a 1080p one instead. 99% of "4K" content out there is actually 1080p content due to chroma subsampling.
What the fuck man, you should see by yourself, 1080p is already deprecated since 2009, 4k is already mainstream and is pretty good, if you have a console/pc/whatever that can handle it.
Also what do you mean by
> I want to play vidya and stream without having to be right in front of the damn TV.

1080p will look fine. It scales incredibly well. You can look at Rtings to check out models but usually there's never any problems with 1080p scaling.

That's just dumb as shit since all the good panels go into 4K screens these days. And 1080p upscaling is nearly flawless on modern sets.

t.I don't know what I'm talking about.
The luma is recorded in 4k, chroma subsampling is not that important.
OP please note that many movies including the Martian were mastered on 2K footage.
There are like handful of true 4K movies and even less with true HDR support.

I have a 28 inch 4k monitor for a few years now and is really makes a difference for desktop usage compared to 1080p.
Recently I bought a 55 inch 4k oled tv but the difference is a lot less obvious for games and movies.
Also I think anything at least 720p with a somewhat decent bitrate looks just fine except when you're sitting only 1m or so from your tv.

You are going blind man.
I think you need pause from looking screens.

No you stupid shit.
>tl;dr
4K video = 1080p video
1080p video = 720p video

I am not saying I don't see the difference. It just doesn't bother me too much.
I recently got a 1080ti for muh gaymz and I can't say that my mind was blown compared to 1080p I did before with my hd7970. The hdr option in mass effect andromeda got me more.

dumb fuck
