Why is it always so shitty? I have three things I usually need to do -- that I would guess are common for most consumers: import MKVs, put images in without resizing them, and match a project's settings and output to some source material. Yet there's not a single editor on the market that can do all of these.

Is that a dragon dildo?
>>62439242
sounds like it's time to make your own, or modify an open source program, my friend
>>62439242
Just import the .h264/avc or .avi?
>>62439252
I don't have the time, inclination, or ability to do that
>>62439274
Well, I suppose you could always pay someone to add what you want to the software.
>>62439268
How do you do that?
>>62439287
I don't have any money
>>62439303
Well, I suppose you could always make a feature request.
>>62439311
I think the developers are aware that people want this and just don't give a shit. I've seen forum threads asking for it.

Download mkvtoolnix and gMKVExtractGUI, both open source, extract the .h264 out of the mkv using gMKVExtractGUI.

Do you know how incredibly hard and time consuming developing a video editor is? It's probably the hardest thing you could program next to 3D editors and game engines.
Best bet OP is to convert the mkv and use vegas/fc, export it with the same settings as the original mkv and reconvert

Well, that's why I recommended modifying an open source program.
Also, everything has to come from somewhere.
