Thanks. I've read this script 3 times now, but I still don't entirely understand if it will do what I want, nor how to use it. I placed it on the scripts folder, and now what?

The autoload script is for loading all media files in the folder. You just put it into scripts folder and it works.
>My .m3u file is just:
What youre trying to achieve?
>>
>>62440026
Yeah I don't want that, I'd have to put every episode + opening + ending on its own folder.

This anime I downloaded doesn't have the ending nor opening included on each episode, they're separate files. It's incomplete to me. I wanna watch the OP and ED every time, or at least have them attached to the episode. So I made a playlist so that it plays OP > episode > ED, but it gets stuck at the end of OP. And yes they're in reverse order as listed above but that's beside the point.

After I updated windows MPV, I can no longer scroll through the video with the mouse wheel. I tried adding it in input.conf but it didn't work?

How can I get that function back?
>>
>>62441257
You could be that person!

https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/4772 has a lot of information and some experimental patches for the various components (e.g. a patch for mouse look floating around somewhere, a patch for the metadata loading (already in master), a handful of semi-optimized shaders, explanations of where to hook it up in the mpv code, etc.)

The new mouse button bindings in mpv 0.27.0 are these:
MBTN_LEFT
MBTN_LEFT_DBL
MBTN_MID
MBTN_MID_DBL
MBTN_RIGHT
MBTN_RIGHT_DBL
WHEEL_UP
WHEEL_DOWN
WHEEL_LEFT
WHEEL_RIGHT
MBTN_BACK
MBTN_FORWARD

The rationale for changing them was that they were a clusterfuck before and they were different on every platform. The new binding names are the same on every platform (X11, Wayland, Windows, macOS,) so for example, BACK and FORWARD are always the side buttons, WHEEL is always the mouse wheel and so on.

MOUSE_BTN0-MOUSE_BTN8 still work, but they are deprecated. They should work the same as they did in mpv 0.25.0, but only in X11. On other platforms they might be different. If you use these, you should switch to the new bindings.

All macs let you reset the password of every account (even admin)

>To get started, you will need to restart your computer. Press the Command and R keys at the same time when the grey screen appears and hold them until you see the Apple logo. A small loading bar will appear under the logo. Sit tight as your system boots into Recovery Mode.
>Click the Utilities tab in the top menu bar, select Terminal, type resetpassword and press Enter. Close out the Terminal window and behind it you will find the Reset Password utility. All you have to do now is select the user account you want to reset, enter a new password or leave it blank and click Save. Then just simply restart the computer from the Apple menu and login with your new password. It's as easy as that.

It really wouldn't. It's just that nobody cares. igv seems to be working on FSRCNN which is similar to NGU Sharp but he doesn't really care about making it good or fast. bjin is doing a lot of work on RAVU which is already better than NGU AA.

So if you absolutely MUST have NGU, I would suggest downloading one of those shaders and renaming it to “NGU.glsl”. You probably wouldn't notice the difference if nobody told you.

>>62458143
>Meant as in compile to use on a different computer.
That's more tricky, especially for a program like mpv which uses alsa, xlib and opengl. It's not like Windows where you can compile software once and expect it to work on a range of systems. On Linux, the programs you compile are tied pretty closely to the versions of software that come with your distro.

If you want to jump down this rabbit hole, your best bet is to install a VM or LXC container of the distro you're targeting and compile in that. Failing that, you can try compiling in a VM or container for a distro where all the library versions are older than the distro you're targeting (try Ubuntu LTS.)

Some more info is here:
https://freegamedev.net/wiki/Portable_binaries

You can also try the AppImage/Flatpak/Snappy memes.

Didn't find anything useful.
Basically I watch a lot of stuff in japanese, and want the japanese subtitles to render properly.
The issue is if I do that, my system fonts would be rendered in weired way.
Currently the fallback font is the last font I've installed.

yes. there is no sub-text-font in it.

Change everything.

Those are not in the manual.

win
Win32/WGL

dxinterop (experimental)
Win32, using WGL for rendering and Direct3D 9Ex for presentation. Works on Nvidia and AMD. Newer Intel chips with the latest drivers may also work.

try playing this, i put it together with interleaved red bar/blue bar frames
it should look like a solid purple bar when played without frame drops, it will flash red or blue if you drop or repeat a frame
>>
>>62460161
meh. i just alt+tab and see you post like this.
>>
>>62460215
>>62457576
pic is a simulated example of what it should look like (composite of both frames)
also be sure to disable things like motion interpolation, which can blur frames together
>>
>>62460215
tnx for this.
>>
>>62460242
i see purple, but sometimes it shows blue and red for a very short while.
>>
>>62460215
I see a flickering purple but I don't see a solid red/blue except when going to fullscreen.
That okay?
>>
>>62460368
then you're dropping/repeating frames
you want it to be solid purple, with a slight, but consistent, flicker (72Hz is still noticably low for high contrast changes like red/blue)
try using
video-sync=display-resample
if you aren't already, your 72Hz mode might not be precicely 72Hz (this in itself is fine, a small error won't be noticable)

>>62460409
that's fine, as long as it's just during the moment when changing between fullscreen and window
>>
>>62460215
>>62460242
This is VERY interesting, anon. For me it flickers very fast, almost unnoticeable at 72Hz and VERY NOTICEABLY at 60Hz. Does that mean that i have true 72Hz? Thank you very much for this. Fukken saved.
>>

wew lad update your stats.lua
>>
>>62460463
>that's fine, as long as it's just during the moment when changing between fullscreen and window
Or shortly after, I might add.

GPUs usually need like 1-2 seconds to recover from resource initialization, clock changes, etc.; plus having to work on the backlog of frames mpv queued up in the meantime.
>>
Try being centered towards this line but look left and right fast from it. You will see RED and BLUE colors! :D
>>
>>62460496
>it flickers very fast, almost unnoticeable at 72Hz
that's good
>VERY NOTICEABLY at 60Hz.
it should, this indicated both that your setup's 72Hz is not 60Hz, and it /should/ look terrible at 60Hz, as it doesn't align with 60Hz

>>62460498
i'll get around to it

>>62460514
i miss none or 1 frame when switching fullscreen/window, however, i'm using mpv on linux with no compositor, so all that really happens is the video is resized to fill the screen, no compositor unredirection or directx exclusive mode switch or whatever else

if you like, the flicker will be very annoying as it's a very low framerate
it should still appear consistent, however
>>62460647
presumably he wants to test a 24Hz TV (they support actual 24Hz mode)

>>62460650
that's because your interpolation is blurring the frames together, reduces the usefulness of this test

>>62460649
i made it with gimp and ffmpeg just now
>>
>>62460681
yes, 60 will be a bit more noticable than 72, and 50 more noticable than 60
24 is practically eye-rape, i made the bar thin so as to not cause eye strain/epilepsy issues, but at 24 it's still harsh (on a large display)

it seems madvr can play this 72hz perfectly while mpv sometimes show blue and red (especially when i move the mouse)

Guys, there's a new thread already
Better post them there again, more people might see it.
>>
Can you make something to test motion judder from mismatch of multiple fps of the video? Or will those test videos work for that as well?
>>
>>62460817
No difference on my end. mpv even looks a bit smoother, maybe placebo.
>>
>>62460860
good to know. there must be something wrong with my mpv. i'll check it out.
>>
>>62460881
Try with empty config or with profile=opengl-hq only.
>>
Anon, your test videos are so good. I can even see what interpolation does to frames. WOW.
>>
>>62460833
the only proper way to avoid judder with VFR (video with multiple rates used) is to use a display rate that is a multiple of all rates used in the video
maybe also freesync/gsync could help with that, but i have not looked into it
>>
>>62460833
>>62460952
oh, also note, this won't help with videos like 24>30 pullup, like a typical ntsc film dvd, as those are 30fps CFR video, the judder is "hard-coded", so to speak, you need to do a 30>24 pulldown to fix those
>>
>>62460897
ok.
>>
>>62460806
protip: even real film projectors flash each frame twice (48Hz) or thrice (72Hz), if they only ran at 24Hz, it would be unwatchably flickery
>>
>>62461258
I hope for more smart anons like you in mpv threads :3
>>
>>62461272
i haven't been in these for a while as i've been content with my mpv setup for some time
really i'm only here again because of the severe lack of worthwhile threads on /g/ as a whole recently
>>
>>62461611
I see. BTW you use 72Hz mode, right? Do you have interpolation enabled for 23.976FPS videos?
