I don't plan on buying a new iPhone any time soon as my iPhone 5 still performs fine and has great battery life, but I stick with Apple because I want something safe, boring, and reliable rather than a Swiss army knife full of half-assed features running an OS made by a literal advertising company.

When my iPhone 5 finally gives out, I will most likely buy the cheapest current iteration of the iPhone, or maybe a used 7.

This. I have shit to do, I don't want to spend time flashing roms and I don't want to be at the whims of some 3rd-party manufacturer when it comes to security updates. Ever since Google killed the Nexus line and announced that the Pixel would follow the same early-deprecation update cycle every other Android manufacturer did I called it quits.

I've had other phones get water on them, including the old iPhone, and its been fine. I barely got any liquid on my phone at all, only about 1/6 of the phone came in contact with the wine. If I had dropped it in the pool that'd be a different story.
