My case wont close with my cooler. I bought a hyper cooler evo for a fractal design mid tower. But the copper ends wont let the case close.
Should I do something desperate like drill holes in the case for the copper tips to go through, or cut the copper tips off.

They're refurbished enterprise machines you idiot, I still haven't seen a single argument for why buying used is supposed to be problem when you spend a lot less money to get better performance. It being an old platform is also irrelevant since the upgrade path for buying the G4560 is shit and will also be an old platform as soon as Coffee Lake is released. The only argument for buying the G4560 is the iGPU, if you're going to add a GPU then you get the 1200.

The only valid argument is the 30 day warranty but even if it fails you're only out $100 bucks. And again, there's no logical reason for why the hardware would randomly fail at any higher rate than buying new components unless you're buying used mining equipment or something, hardware lasts a really long time if you don't treat it like a retard.

I got the evo for $18 and I have the stock cooler, so Im not completely against experimenting.

Is it worth it? You aren't doing workstation tasks on an R3, and general usage is a wash. For gaming, the difference isn't that big. It's a call the buyer needs to make.

Yes, as the price has climbed the G4560 is increasingly a bad deal. You'd be looking at a G4600.
The problem is that it starts jumping too close to the R3 to have a well defined place. But if you don't have it, the cheapest CPU you end up recommending is $100, which is unacceptable for many people. When your budget is so small, even meager increases in price can be a problem.
You could recommend Bristol Ridge, and for basic tasks it's okay. But their iGPU is still not that great, and pairing them with a dGPU has pretty bad results, and on this board most people want to game, even on a budget.

Just grab a screwdriver (a phillips head, preferably with a magnetic head), follow the basic rules of working on a rig, use some common sense and don't be a brainlet.
Here are the simple rules:
1) Always release the static from your body before touching anything sensitive. Just touch anything made of metal, even your case, and don't work on a carpet.
2) If it won't go in or won't come out, don't force it, you're probably doing something wrong.
3) Cable management is important, Don't let your cables get in the way of your fans.
4) When bolting something on that uses multiple screws, either start with the center screw (if there is one) or just start at whichever screw and then do the one at the exact opposite end. Always work diagonally, in other words.

Everything else is fairly simple. All the cables only go into one their proper socket easily and they only go in one way. The different screws might confuse you, just memorize where they all go.
Don't be afraid, opening your case is as simple as taking out the screws on the back of the side panel. You can clean it with a paintbrush, a bike pump or compressed air. Taking out the graphics cards is as simple as taking out the screw and PCI-E cables and pulling it out.

If you feel like you need any more help, just look at one of the THOUSANDS of build guides on youtube.

NVME SSD costs extra for nothing compared to normal SSD or SATA M.2

Fuck's sake with that sort of build you might as well get a better PSU than a 500w bronze piece of crap. Don't expect to get any sort of good overclocking from that thing (and overclocking is the whole point of the K series). 80+ Bronze means it will only actually output 425 at peak load, so with that 1080ti and 7700k you're right on the edge, which isn't recommended. And have you even picked a CPU heatshink? The K doesn't come with any.

And if all you're doing is "discord and some games and video editing" and you don't even have a 144hz monitor, yes it's MASSIVE overkill and should be replaced with a 1070 and a Ryzen 5. Oh and definitely throw in 16GB of memory instead.

The IO shielding for the mobo takes a significant amount of force to make sure it mounts. That is why plenty of people have cut their fingers on it.

Gaming, although I bought a PS4 to minimize usage of Windows. There's some games I either can't or I' unwilling to play on consoles. Especially the case since I have two monitors it would bother me if one was higher-res than the other.it wouldn't be so bad since I'm an I3 user butit would bother me all the same. Speccy done. the GPU is temp once again til the gpu shitstorm blows over.

Having an issue though. I went away from the comp for 2 hours to take care of some farm chores and came back to the comp turned off. When trying to turn on, the comp seemed turned on but nothing on the monitor. Switching motherboard and gpu connections did nothing.

So I forced a shut down (5 second push dealio), tried to turn back on and same thing happened with nothing on monitor. Noticed when forced shutdown or turned on, power light on case was blinking.

Looked up something on net, decided to unplug, wait awhile, plug back in, and it turned on normally, somewhat. From a cold boot the comp seems to post, restart after a few seconds, post, then gets to the asrock's bios/etc. options screen (F2, f11, etc. options) then starts normally.

As of this posting for past hour, comp hasn't turned off or anything, and disabled sleep if that might'ave effected anything.

How efficient are power supplies under very low load? High usage stuff like gaming is probably only 1/4 of what I use my computer for.
