Need some advice:

I'm new to webdev. Getting pretty confident with HTML and CSS, but have yet to move into JS.

Is sublime a pretty good text editor? It's what I use, and I like it well enough.

So? Development on Sublime is fucking glacial. VS Code is far better. My coworkers who use Sublime but have seen me using VS Code during discussions have all started to switch or at least download it to evaluate.
