The jailbreaking scene was dominated by chinky chinks in chinkland who only did it to install better Chinese keyboards on iOS. Ever since Apple added custom keyboard functionality to iOS, they haven't bothered.

Because they can report any exploits to apple and get a heap of bounty money.

Also it's the same as rooting with android, the main reason was to add extra features and functions to your device. You don't really need it as much as the OS's have all the features you'd want
