I usually hate mobile versions. For example the reddit mobile version is 90 times larger (and therefore loads 90 times slower) than the desktop version and it's completely unusable and just an advertisement for their app.

Webdevs use AMP because Google puts AMP pages at the top of their search results, and since Google is the only relevant search engine they like the idea of being relevant on it
