wtf is speccy

some gay shit pajeets run in their shitty designated operating system
>>62397849
that's a lot of pixels and bytes, good job op

Only steers and queers use Incel CPUs released after 2011, and you sure don't look like a steer to me.
>>62398807
Meh.
Shitposting machine
>>62398807
I am queer. Also I think the 5820K was the best Intel CPU released after 2011. Its still better than Ryzen and you had more performance than anyone since 2014. X99 has a Quadchannel DDR4 interface and can compete any modern platform.
>>62397849

I want those too but ram is super expensive right now

Nice storage space.
What's with the 1152x864 resolution?

Get a new system for yourself. You can go to micro center and get an off-lease machine for pretty good price. Old CAD systems and shit like that are cheap

I wish we had one by me :(.

My XPS 13 is giving these readings at idle, are they false positive or do I really need to worry?
>>62399527
Check temps in the bios
>>62399527
I'd remove your heatsink, clean the CPU and heatsink, then apply new thermal compound. Happened to me where it dried out because I took off the heatsink to get to some ram
>>62399559
>>62397849
CPU is at 4,5Ghz, Speccy does not read that out.
>>62399754
Needs thermal paste replacement and/or dust removal from the heatsink.
>>62399856
How the heck do I open up a Dell XPS 13 9360? Also does it void warranty
>>62399899
>Does it void warranty
Who cares? Probably not, it's your computer. They should thank you for this instead of wasting their time.
There should be some screws holding the side of the case on then you should be able to slide the side off.
Then look up how to reapply thermal compound
>>62399899
You could look for a tutorial on ifixit or a video of the disassembly on Youtube. Taking apart laptops is not easy though as the screwheads can easily be worn out (then you would need a drill in order to remove them).
I suggest that you either bring the laptop to a computer repair shop (also voids Dell's warranty) or send it in to Dell directly. As far as I know, Dell's repair service is quite good and they might even pick the laptop up from your home.

Any problems so far?
Loads of ram because I'm retarded
>>62400583
What's it like having 48gb of ram?
>>62400607
Not him but must be amazing for browsing sadpanda, 200 tabs with no problems.
>>62400633
Basically this. I can load entire games into ram for those non-existent loading times. Other than that it's just a waste of power.
>>62400562
no, the rotation is a bit fiddly but it's been running for over 2 years on arch just fine
>>62400704
Well that is really good, x220t are known for having screens that go FUBAR really easy.

How does the 2500k hold up with Vega. You get any real noticeable bottlenecking?

Pretty awesome if it were 2002, but I still like it.
here is my pc, i usually do my class research on it. Going for my masters in computer science and janitorial services
>>62399527
My XPS isn't ;^)
>>62404587
There definetly is bottlenecking in some games, but not enough to make me rush out and buy a new CPU. Mind you that's at WQHD with the CPU @4.7Ghz ü 2133Mhz RAM.
(RAM speed just as important as CPU clock. Slow RAM caused massive stuttering in some games before overclocking it to 2133Mhz)
Waiting for a Ryzen refresh before upgrading.

It's completely evident he blew all his money on a new Ryzen PC and kept his old monitor for the time being he'll replace later.
>>62408563
My main monitor is currently broken and I don't want to buy anything new before they release this new 1440p ultra wide 200hz panels with HDR.

Just wait as the AMD fags did for Vega.
>>62404599
The thing is a fucking monster. I can stream and record my gameplay and the thing can handle it without a problem. No dropped frames while doing so.
It's ridiculous. Even things like decompressing RAR files take less time now. I don't notice a difference in boot time, which is what somewhat worried me since I heard that X99 systems take a minute or so to boot up.
Threadripper is everything I hoped it would be and so much more.

What's up with with the SCSI USB SATA? You are gangbanging that board in hole that didn't previously exist.
My cpu and ram isn't near their potensial right now, cpu does 4.5ghz pretty easy and ram atleast 2000mhz on these timings, may get them even tighter too.
Just got my old r3e replaced with a friends 3 weeks ago as mine started to die on me, and haven't bothered tweaking it now with 24gb ram..
I also overclocked my 29" Dell from 60 to 80hz, I'll try 90hz soon but kinda worried about fucking it up, its 4 years old already.
>>62407447
Westmere bro :3
I'm sure I have asked you before, but have been off /g/ for a couple months so I forget.. Why so low overclock?
I guess we will never get to push our 1060's to the limits either because of that jew bios limit they have set.
I want to get a Vega56 so bad, but the 1060 6gb runs everything I game on 2560x1080 with good enough fps, so can't really justify it.
>>62417230

>>62417230
>Westmere bro :3
Ayyyy, yeah its me,
I'm lazy haha, I just use the same setting from my i7 920.
Ill try and push 4ghz soon. I think it might be bottlenecking the 1060 in battlegrounds a little. Maybe this weekend :^)
>>62422022
The x5650 should use up to 22x multi I think, then you only need a slight nudge in bclk to go over 4ghz =)
>>62417646
Yeah man, the rampage is pretty fucking sick.
Given that the mobo survives, this setup will last for years to come performance wise.
At 4.2 - 4.3ghz it performs as a stock i7 5820k, so I get al little more than that at 4.5ghz..
24gb will be enough faaar longer than the cpu will perform, and mobo live.
And with all the pcie lanes, I can just add pretty much any card without sacrificing bandwith.
I love it.

Those temps are only possible with refrigeration (or freezing room temperature).
>>62423758
Thats not so bad, really. Rockin a 1060 6gb myself, but on 1366 >>62417230
Any overclock on that 860? My 1156 xeon x3470 does 3.8ghz on decent aircooling and 4.2ghz on water.
3.6 - 3.8ghz is usually quite easily achieved on the 1156 i7's
Get a 16gb kit of ddr3 1600mhz+ and a SSD, and that rig is quite fast actually.
>>62397849
What kind of hardware are you using to have all those hdds?
hi
>>62422969
>60Hz
Gaming below 60Hz is objectively bad, above 60Hz subjectively better.
>>62422969
Did you look at the resolutions? 60Hz/fps is probably the best aim at ultra wide 1440p and definitely at 4K.
>>62426726
If you can get stable 120/144fps, I would say that's objectively better and preferred to 60 fps at least in first person games.
>>62397849
I kinda wish I got the 7700k now lads..
>>62426816
Why? I'd rather have a soldered spreader than that paste nonsense.
>>62427062
The paste wouldn't be bad if it wasn't such low quality paste.
