I need a new phone since my Nexus 6p bootlopped. I've gotten really wary of Android since, even though I know that problem was hardware related to the 6p. The music quality is actually pretty fucking good if you have premium, because then you can listen to 320 kbps mp3s. If you only have a free account however, then it's 128 kbps dogshit. Just recently I was listening to deezer, and I thought to myself "gee this sure sounds like shit". I've had a Oneplus One for I guess three years now. Still in good condition, drop it like once a week at least but everything still works, no screen cracks either, camera still taking very good pictures.
Meanwhile my dad is on his third iphone. If you count the returns, he's like on his fifth phone by now. Admittedly, he does treat them rough, but I see more people using an iphone that is in some way broken than one in good condition.

Agreed. Apple seems to be putting most of its "innovative" engineering into its camera/optics. These portrait photo gimmicks are just appealing to vapid teenage girls/young adults who take too many pictures of themselves and each other. It's a huge market, but then again what else are they offering? Full display is fine, the gesture-based OS is interesting. What about a 120hz display? If you're doing 2x4GB yes, that'll double the power draw, but a single 8GB DIMM, or 6GB DIMM would be identical power draw to a single 4GB (or any single sized DIMM for that matter).

To an extent, with larger orchestral pieces you simply can't compress into an Mp3 or similar and not expect to lose a decent amount of detail.
