I don't get it. I don't watch anime but sometimes I watch movies and shows. I just pirate em, watch em, then delete em. And now I mostly just watch em online and even without downloading em. Why do you need to keep em? Are you a golden fish that keeps forgetting what you saw a second ago so you need to rewatch those shits every damn day? Also don't bring you are hording or seeding. Those actions are pointless. Also also grow the fuck up and stop watching cartoons.

It uses helium which will "slowly' leak over time (a couple of years). It only needs to lose a portion of it and the headers will start to crash.

Helium and shingled magnetic recording are just last ditch efforts by HDDs vendors to trying to beat solid-state media in the density race.

Soild-state already wins in density but it is a bit expensive right now. Just wait until cost drop.

These HDDs are practically impossible to perform data recover on.

HDDs will become the new "tape/floppy drive".
>>
>>62396841
why not just use hdparm?
>>
>>62395882

HDDs are already hitting physical limits on how data you can cram on the platters. PMR is near its end of its limit. SMR can go a bit further but you sacrifice performance and ability to recover data in a disaster. Helium-filled drives crammed with platters is just a ticking time bomb waiting to go off in a couple of years since the Helium will eventually all leak out.
>>
Does this fit in my ThinkPad X60?

>>It uses helium which will "slowly' leak over time (a couple of years).

it's not pressured and they patented https://www.google.com/patents/US7434987 10 years ago already
these kind of drive have to be completely sealed, it won't just "diffuse" because it's a small atom and the like. Warranty covers five years.

Nice! I have always wanted to do this but technology is just not there yet, or is it? How much space you think it would require to have every single channel, commercials included, from channels 2-24 for example from 1985 to 1995 24x7 recording? using the latest compression technology ? Are we talking terabytes or petabytes?
