Honest thoughts on Windows Defender?
i use what work mandates me to use only when work mandates its use

I'm sure that botnet defender will harden your botnet just fine
>>62373835
It's adequate Windows protection if your an average person with Common Sense 2017.

If using Anti Virus, Windows Defender is the best choice as its integrated into Windows and receives fast definition updates.

>>62373835
Using it because iso27001 meme my boss fell for
>>62373835
It's fine if you're a Wincuck. Don't forget to enable Spynet for best experience. Oh wait, I forgot it's enabled by default.

No problems. No viruses.
Always running in the background and doesn't adversely/noticeably affect performance. Haven't gotten any viruses in years and it's caught a couple trojans here and there.
>>62373835
Actually some time ago it became a good antivirus option. Better than most of free antiviruses.
>>62374631
Its not like they really try to hide the "I don't want to join Microsoft SpyNet at the time" option
>>62373835
Was shit untill it basicaly became MSE in Windows 8. It does it's job fine if you add a bit of common sense.
>>62373835
Honestly good, but maybe a botnet because it's Microsoft.
>>62373835
<- Only way to use it.
>>62373869
you're are*
>>62373835
Honestly if you're not a dumbass you should be fine without any antivirus protection, but this good as a minimum and beats the literal adware you get from avast and other commercial antiviruses offering a free version
>>62373835
My PC works amazingly good when i have it disabled
>>62373835
SHIT DETECTION RATE,
even M$ill told us, to use other AVs if you want real protection.
It's fine. "Free" antivirus these days looks like malware themselves. Have you seen Avast? At least MSE/Defender isn't intrusive and the UI is simple.
Windows Defender + Common Sense = No Worries.
>>62373835
Genuinely pretty decent. It's a wonder that someone at MS hasn't noticed and found a way to fuck it up yet.

Rl mk m tnk
>>62378527
Not sufficient if the virus is a worm
>>62373835
Literally useless, the only time it ever detected anything was when I manually tried to run windows 98 malware on windows 7 for testing purposes and it didn't even delete it for whatever permission conflict. On the other hand, Avast didn't even let me finish downloading the virus file and erased it completely.
I've used windows since 1999 and I guarantee you that MS can't into security software in the least, don't forget the windows xp firewall fiasco.
Some people say MSE is all you need, but that's plain bullshit or trolling/shitposting, anyone who is a windows power user knows that MS cannot be trusted with anything other than games.
botnetware
Literally as useful as dog shit.
>>62373835
It's fine, as long as you're not the type who opens files like XXX_Wild_Girl.exe.avi, though I do wonder how it compares to clam.
Windows Defender + sometimes malware bytes
>>62373835
Replace with Sophos.
