It's fine if it's used, or heavily discounted.

If i where you i would recommend only buying a pair of studio monitors for that budget.
Subwoofer alone costs easy around 200 dollars and I'm talking here about a cheap one that goes pretty low
>>
>>62367929
Why does the rest of /g/ hate Lo/g/itech?

I'd rather pay $120
>>
>>62367936
yeah, heavily as in a quarter of the price
>>
>>62367985
are there any monitors within that budget that have decent enough bass that i wouldn't need a sub?
>>
>>62368455
it really depends how much bass impact you're looking for.

Studio monitors can provide some very decent bass for what they are, but they're not a dedicated sub and wont be a complete substitution for one.
>>
>>62368455
if you save up a little you can get something 8" like lsr 308 which extend to <40Hz (-3dB), what logitech fart cannons and similar can't
>>
>>62368210
Or free as a birthday gift from 12 years ago. Still running them, working great, sound better than 90% of all PC speakers out there.
>>
>>62368137
What is this "Logitech", don't you mean "Logi"?

A decent set of bookshelves and an amplifier from craigslist or a pawn shop. People are moving to soundbars and bluetooth speakers and are getting rid of that shit. Save up until you can afford to build or buy a proper subwoofer.

Even a low end set of book shelf speakers with a wooden enclosure sounds better than the best plastic computer speakers.

Or go with some studio monitors. But keep in mind they're supposed to have a very flat response which may or may not sound good to you. You won't like them if you're one of those people who listen to shit with the bass and treble knob turned all the way up.
>>
>>62367929
these are solid OP. go with these if that's your budget. don't listen to the faggot shills on /g/.
>>
>>62368751
That's what your girlfriend tells your mom after I'm done with her

a.k.a.

No shit an 8 inch woofer is going to be big
>>
>>62368787
Do what I did, search goodwill type stores for really cheap enclosures, toss out the crappy speakers inside them, and replace them with car audio speakers.
I spent $14 for solid (and sexy looking) ported boxes that were a perfect fit for some 30W RMS 4 inch woofers, and I kept the ribbon tweeters in because that's cool shit. It just needed some cap line filtering for perfection.
>>
>>62367929
>le "tiny speakers but somewhat big woofer combo" meme

Consumer cucks will keep falling for it eternally.
>>
>>62367929
I have the Z623 and they're good. I didn't fall for the studio monitor meme because where was I going to put that shit on my desk. I already have multiple 24" monitors and a studio mic on an arm
>>
>>62368751
No problem. Just don't be a spacelet.

My Harmon 2.1 thing that is all clear wore its glue out. The speakers are functional but the casing is in two pieces.

What should I use to glue it back.

Still need to watch out. For years now Bose has just sold the name for other companies products. Their stuff is ok but meme priced.
>>
>>62369117
2 part epoxy made for plastic
>>
>>62367985
My entry level studio monitors cost $180 EACH. Good luck finding quality speakers for $200.

>>62367768
Just buy some $40 Logitech speakers to tide you over while you save up for real audio.
>>
>>62367768
Pioneer Elite vsx-44 (ebay 10-14-2016) $129.99, remote $19.39
$149.38

I coupled it with $20 speakers for now, but it is still better than yours.
>>
>>62369148

Thanks.
>>
>>62367929
Only get these if you want very deep and excessive bass. I'm not saying they aren't sounding good and balanced when the bass is turned all down, I'm saying you shouldn't buy this if you don't want a LOT of bass, because that's its best selling point. With that in mind, had them for a year, no regrets.
>>
>>62368787
This this this. Almost spent 400€+ on Klipsch R-15Ms and a brand new stereo amp, instead I found someone giving an old Yamaha 5.1 amp away for free and picked up some really nice old floorstanding speakers (i.e. big and loud) from a charity shop for 60€.
>>
>>62367768
A receiver/amp and a decent pair of bookshelf speakers.
>>
>>62373042
can i get some good or decent bass from that with a $200 budget?
>>
>save $100 more and buy the god tier JBL LSR 305's

Problem solved OP
>>
>>62367768
I love mine. Great sound, plenty of volume and bass, and they don't take up a lot of space. They might have them on display at Best Buy, if you want to try them out first.
>>
Botnet & Vader
>>
Stop being a loser and get bookshelf speakers and an amp.

I just recently got eh polk T15 and the Lepai 2020ti for about $80 on sale.

Better sound quality/more flexibility
>>
>>62367913

No highs, no lows, must be Bose.
>>
>>62367768

A pair of Paradigm Atom V7's and either a Lepai 2020 amp or a second hand Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha, or JVC reciever from your local Salvation Army or Goodwill would put you at about $200 with much better sound. I own the original Paradigm Atom's. I've had 'em since '94 and they still sound awesome.
>>
>>62367768
Graet speakers, OP. You won't need anything else unless you're throwing nigger houseparties.
>>

or if, you know, you want to listen to music...

+1 for these

They're honestly the best accessory I've bought for my PC in sometime.
