Currently browsing on mid 2010 macbook pro 17 inch running windows 7 in bootcamp. C O M F Y.

i7, 330gtm card, 256 SSD. Can't run anything apart from IL 2 Sturmovik for games though.

I use a MacBook pro 17 inch late 2011 with a 2tb hdd 256gb ssd 1600mhz ddr3 ram and Intel i7 2860hq. It's pretty great only really shows its age when trying to watch hevc or x265 content. It even has USB 3 support cause I got an express card with 2 USB 3 ports that sits flush with the base. I'm using fedora on it and it works perfectly, started using it as macos kept getting worse and worse.

I love it. I program on it 12hrs every day. It's fast and does everything I need it to do. If you can find one cheap, go for it.

tempted, i have a friend offering me a 2011 for free. i have a 2016 13in touchbar but would actually like the 17in for travel. lots of times when having a 17in screen would be helpful vs a 13.
