>>62346267
because you are poor

>“At the same time, changes have occurred in the relationship among the top three suppliers – Micron, SK Hynix and Samsung,” Wu added. “Based on the oligopolistic market situation, the trio have opted for co-existence as the best way to maximize their own profitability. They therefore are turning away from aggressively competing for market share through price reduction and capacity expansion.”
>“In a sense, there a strategic aspect behind the latest wave of DRAM price increase,” said Wu. “In the short term, rising prices lift up margins for suppliers. In the long run, the barrier to keep Chinese competition out of the DRAM market is reinforced.”

Why is EU so slow at suing them?
>>62346356
b-but anon if we remove all government regulations preventing them from doing this then they won't do this because competition will step up their game! don't you know the free market always prevails?

>EU doesn't sue company
>Why is EU so slow at suing them?
>>62346267
because people still buy at this price
A long time ago (ddr3 days) there was a flood or something in a factory. this raised the price of ddr3 significantly (funnily enough those that purchased 16gb won out in the end). then because people kept buying the price never went down. same thing happened with basically every component and is happening now with graphics cards

Because you touch yourself at night

It does prevail in the sense that eventually they will backstab each other for profits. Without a way to keep them honest with each other one group will invariably drop price to grab as much market as possible. This mechanism is why we had an issue with OPEC in the 70's the US forced each sale of oil to be publicized with sale price and the seller, effectively making sure those OPEC fucks could keep track of the oil sales

That's complete bullshit though. DDR4 was half the price it is now just last year. I paid £74.99 for a Corsair 16GB 3200MHz kit in May 2016. The current cheapest price for the same kit is £160.54 from Amazon.
>>62347391
grats on getting a deal, ram prices havent dropped though
>>62347411
You're simply wrong. Prices dropped massively in the couple of years after the fire at Hynix, having briefly spiked.

There was no "deal". That was the standard price of a DDR4 kit in the first half of last year. Enjoy living in your headcanon where you create an alternate history where you're right.
Remember when DDR3 was dirt cheap and /g/ was recommending like 16GB for everything? Those were the days.
>>62347784
While I didn't hit the lowest of the low I still pat my back for getting 32 gigs.
>>62347647
