How do lumes work? My watches seem to only light up after intense light hits it like from the sun or directly under a light bulb. it only really stays bright for about a minute, and that's it. Those are fine statements, with the exception of one point. People can go above 42, keeping the caveat that the watch is well-proportioned. I didn't save the pic, but I have seen a guy with wrists that would make a 50 mm watch look good. I wish I saved it, the guy was gigantic. Not even fat, but he was wearing some fashion watch with more than 60 mm lug-to-lug without any overhang. That guy was definitely an outlier, but significant portions of the population can pull off 43 or 45 mm sport watches, for casual settings of course.
