Does it require you to actually have steam open or is it like borderless windowed which can be bought through steam but doesn't need it to open it?

I think animated wallpapers are silly, when I'm at my computer I am looking at other things not my wallpaper, same on my phone. I only do slideshows on both, not videos/dynamic things.

What did you buy that overpowered rig for?

Pretty much everything on there that is a video or image is low resolution however. The applications papers and those that let you set your own image as bg is are good.

That said a lot of the time I just turn it off cause I don't stare at my s´desktop much.
