My best friend bought their 4TB Barracuda and it lasted maybe a week. He had to RMA it but the drive he got in return lasted maybe 2 months. Total fucking garbage.
How can this company make such shit hard disks and still be in business?? I've never heard anyone say anything good about Seagate.
I only buy Toshiba, Hitachi and WD desu

He is obviously doing something seriously wrong with the drive.

thats why. their new stuff is all shit.

I make a backup every so often. It's only 40 GB and used as an external drive.
I got a 1TB for probably about 3 years now.
Works OK, I think the USB cable is a bit fucked (might be my fault) but the SSD itself still works.

HGST is the best. WD makes consumer drives (HGST is the enterprise spin-off collaboration with Hitachi's storage division), so no surprise their failure rates are through the roof. Toshiba is somewhat difficult to find.

>WD antiSeagate shills
you're the worst obvious shills on /g/

>MUH SHILLING
>EVERYONE WHO SHITS ON SEAGATE MUST BE A SHILL
kys, shill.

HDDs are practically disposable commodity goods. Get over it.
You just a victim of a shitty batch. Every existing vendors releases shitty batches that die prematurely with little or no warning.
HDDs aren't built like were used to. QA and QC have corners cut due to price pressure from solid-state media. That's why manufacturer warranties have greatly diminished over the years.

Stop shilling.
the segate 3/4 TB drives suck. You have to go by the different runs of drives to figure out if they suck that year. Id have to check backblaze but I think wd is the lead fail in 6/8 TB.
