Bought an S8+ for 700$ yesterday. It's a beautiful phone. The hdr is good. Camera is good. It feels really nice to hold and the phone's sexy.
But would I buy it for 700$ if it was my own money? no. My company bought it for me so I don't mind. But the I don't feel like any phone is worth 700$

I bought my S8+ for $800.

When I tried setting up payments on the phone Verizon kept sending me to their fraud department and they'd offer me prepaid for some fucking reason.

I did tell the guy to offer me prepaid though and when he asked if I wanted it I said no.

I got one a couple months back as a work phone. It's pretty nice. Way better than my oneplus 3.
Is it $700 good? Barely.

A friend of mine got one, it's embarrassingly bad. It looks good, takes good photos, everything else is garbage

Curved screen is horrible. Imagine if you will a company releases a phone with a screen that has horrible backlight bleed, glare and distortion at the edges. Every review would mention this and pan it. The curved screen essentially does this but noone mentions it. What the fuck.

Locked down, overbloated, overpriced, gimmicky. Slower than every model with the similar hardware, both in benchmarks and real world usage. Has the most retarded fp scanner placement imaginable. The camera is good I guess.

I got the s8+ for $640, and I'm very happy with it. If you watch a lot of movies/videos on your phone, it's worth it. The battery is good too. But if you're just gonna web browse and watch the occasional youtube video, I'd go with a mid range phone.

I really want to get some opinions here:

Whenever I hold a phone that has a large screen (namely the note4), The skin of my palm and the fat of my finger tips usually end up accidentally pressing something on the phone. I will often find it going to the app cleaning + widgets menu or to some app that I didn't want to open.

Can anyone with the S8/8+ or Note8 tell me if they have this experience? I am getting tired of having to delicately hold my phone in one hand and make sure that none of the flesh of my holding hand barely touches the screen of the phone.

I HAVE held the phone in person at the store before deciding not to get it because I hated the screen. I always need to have the actual phone in my hand before deciding on purchase no matter how glowing the reviews are.

I dont have it but my friend does. Absolutely awful battery life.

My redmi note 3 pro shits all over it in that regard. Other than that, its supposedly nice.

Then again, I would never trade battery life for gimmicks.

My S8+ can last the entire day with full brightness and battery-killing apps like Snapchat and Twitter open. It charges to 100% in like half an hour.

Nothing Apple comes up with could hold a candle to this beast. I'm saying this as someone who had a 6S+.

This simple fact changes the device's status from mobile to merely "portable". You wouldn't want your phone to be in the same tier as gaming laptops, would you?

I got it for $450 after trading my old shitty free phone in and it was totally worth it, but I wouldnt pay over $500 for it or any phone. Heres a quick non biased review so far:

+fast charging is great
+nice UI features like multiwindow and edge screen
+aesthetic as fuck
+can handle anything you throw at it
+water/dust resistant
+decent camera
+stunning OLED screen
+sd card capability
+fingerprint reader
+battery is satisfactory, not really a plus but whatever

-single speaker (my biggest complaint)
-fragile af
-minor stutters once in a while (people blow this out of proportion, its not inconvenient)
-came with some bloat that i couldnt delete like facebook (you can still disable them)
-samsung may sometimes remove or change nice features in an update (ex: cant change the nav bar color to black anymore)
