You're not going to power these from a computer or headphone amp.

Something like LSR305 + LSR310S would do the trick.

First appreciate the inherent difficulties of measurement, and that pair-pair variance exists. The flaws in the measurement equipment and the limitations of generality.
May as well just use innerfidelity. Custom compensation stuff aside.

I prefer the HD 600 over the DT 880. I didn't find any comfort issues with the HD 600. Can't feel the clamping force so many people complain about. For me it feels as comfy as the DT 880.

Etys, DBA-02 and variants, AF180, the Klipsch X20. Deep fit is mandatory to remove bass rumble.

Concha fit earpieces can be difficult to work with if you don't get a really long stem sleeve, which will have its own sonic consequences (reverse horn, tube eigenmodes).

Hope I'm not too late but no DO NOT buy that thing. It is strictly outclassed at this point. You're better off either getting a good dac from like hifimediy since it will still be powerful enough to drive the m50, a dac/amp combo like the fx audio dac x6, or a slightly higher end dac/amp combo maybe the micca origen+.
You won't keep using your m50's forever and I suggest just buying something nice if you can afford it so you can get whatever headphones you want in the future with out caring about your dac/amp.
e10k is really very weak power-wise.

1080 is a very bad buy right now in my personal, subjective, opinion. Between it being a midrange card hardware wise and it being late in it's life as well as the seemingly permanent increase in demand for GPUs from training data sets, mining, and the growing pc market all make it seem like it's going to get btfo very soon. I suppose the 11gbps one has a decent outlook but really the only pascal card to buy right now is the 1080ti which is 100% worth the extra money.
Also you could have gotten a vega 56 a few times now looking at stock trackers. With it near identical perf to the 1080 with all of the overclocking tricks, amd's history of aging well, and how much you can tweak the card I think it's a better buy than the 1080 even at the same price. People say vega is power hungry but it's only ridiculous when it's performance is pushed to the very max, it actually scales DOWN very very well and is why they're going to use it in APUs and shit instead of polaris. If you're playing something you have too much gpu for with vega you can drop it's power a shit ton.
Anyway I think I'm going to buy those he400is instead of the hd600.
>>62336728
The 250ohm beyers sound like shit on it compared to my dac x6. iirc to hit 90db(leaves a lil room for quiet recordings and eq) on a 250ohm dt you need 25mw into 250ohm. I mean for christ's sake the thing only does 200mw into 32ohm which is something like 20mw at 250. The dac x6 can do 910mw at 32ohm. It's shit. Trash. Outdated. Do not ever buy one of these.

Hahaha, bunch of buyer's remorse around these parts. You'll be broke in no time now that the wool's been pulled over your eyes indefinitely
>>
>>62338329
it depends on your headphone which freq, but 60hz subbass is the sweet spot where it hits you but doesn't muddy the mids. The issue with open backs like the sennheisers is the speaker will hit max excursion before it does and it will clip and distort. you need a chamber to contain it otherwise you don't get quite the effect
>>
>>62338428
So what's available around 300€ for good impact without fucking up the mids too much and no sibilant treble?
>>
>>62338295
Neither LCD2, X, 3, or EL-8 suffer from treble roll off. If anything, the stuff 10kHz and up categorically sticks out compared to just about everything else.
>open backs
Leaky baffle and earpads. The back does not change this.
But leak is opposed to low frequency extension. Max excursion is not a part of this.

>>62338329
>bass impact
I always though it referred to the boom of a drum. A lift from 40-100 Hz usually does that.
>>
>>62338389

they are slightly rolled off.
and yes open backs do make a huge difference when it comes to subbass impact. You can get bass impact with a hifiman for example but it's not going to be at the level of a closed, or ported, dynamic. max excursion is definitely a limiting factor if we are talking about pushing bass with the eq to get impact

>iirc to hit 90db(leaves a lil room for quiet recordings and eq) on a 250ohm
Power is such a weird way to describe a load. It's too convoluted to be useful, and your amplifier doesn't work on that basis anyway.
Nominally it should be a few hundred microwatts for the DT 990. But that depends on the frequency, the impedance modulus and phase angle. Too much work for something that already required you to know the actual transfer function of your headphone.
>>
>>62338586
>they are slightly rolled off.
Audezes have more peaks at 20kHz and above, they have rising response going into the top octave. But whatever.
>it's not going to be at the level of a closed, or ported, dynamic
Ah.
Yes, the rear cavity can be used to serve as an LF Helmholtz resonator. You generally don't have that element in an open backed headphone.
You do sacrifice the infinite bass by introducing the pressure equalizer in the form of a vent.
>max excursion is definitely a limiting factor
These aren't OB woofers. As long the chamber provides some effective opposition to airflow, you aren't going to see that 2nd order rolloff. This decreases compliance, limiting excursion. Places a strong playback/EQ level restriction with something like the Audio Technica AD series, but not most other headphones. Although I don't think using the HD600 for <20Hz content is a good idea.

The coil drivers have a fair bit of excursion to give, so you aren't running into xmax so easily.

My old dragonfly black I use for my iems now could get it to a listening level at 100% output but it sounded like absolute dog shit, even more so than the 990's usually do. There is a guide somewhere going into the differences between the entire line and it suggests OTL tube amps as a nice option, something to do with them being better suited for it but of course solid state is fine.

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/how-to-automatically-eq-your-headphones-to-online-measurements-a-step-by-step-guide.854773/ HD600 treble likely only requires a single filter at ~7.5 kHz to remove treble resonance resulting from acoustic impedance mismatch between driver and eardrum. <1 kHz response should be trivial to equalize to Etymotic-like flatness with the method in above link.
>>
>>62338428
Most open dynamics EQ just fine to Etymotic-like flatness, or even Harman target, without audible distortion. I have EQ'd KSC-75 to Harman target without audible distortion, and they have a stronger sub-bass rolloff than most open headphones. Bass distortion is a lot harder to perceive than you think.

It's not undeserved though. The effects of auditory masking means that you will hear the most detail in your music from an accurate sound signature. Any coloration is therefore bad, and so you get shit on for liking niggerbass, like how others get shit on for liking ear rape treble, etc. Stop whining about your perceived persecution. adorama is legit and runs the same sale once or twice a month, so don't worry. Also you can buy that for $600 used

I have total respect for AMD, my previous rx480 was a very nice card but at the current prices the rx64 is a really bad buy. So far the 1080 runs super cool, maxed out settings on everything at 100+ fps without an overclock. Very impressed.

As for the he-400i they curbstomp the hd600 imho, even moreso with a little bit of EQ.

They're tortilla chips and I just wipe my fingers off on a towel before going back to shit posting. If you're a pro you only ever touch a chip with two fingers and so it's easy to get the grease off your finger tip. pbt does well with grease too.

my store sells these tortilla chips that are just dripping with grease. Every time I finish a whole bag I wake up in the middle of the night and get real close to puking because it doesn't sit well. I think I puked once, they taste great though definitely worth it

Not using it (I use fulla 2 / magni 2's knobs) so can't really say, but before I got the schiit, I can tell you that I kinda liked the das keyb knob only until I tried the k70's volume wheel (like a mouse wheel). Turns out, I did kinda prefer the mouse-wheel-like thing.
Volume knobs just aren't the same when they just endless-spin in place for relative adjustment, rather than be set to a specific position within a limited range of movement for absolute adjustment.

Your PC, if anything.
I suggest you play with your usb device and/or controller "power management settings", in device manager.
It's probably leaving the port powered on suspend, while it should not. Or the other way around.
USB is a bitch. I hear Windows 7 is a lot of trouble, and 10 is fine. Linux is also fine.
To not have to deal with it, I got the uber and connected it to computer's spdif out instead of usb.

Cat scratched the flat cable, what to do?
>>
I've been using DT770s for 5 years now and over time the cable has stiffened towards the cans. I mean really stiffened- trying to flex the cable is like trying to flex a biro. Anybody else experienced this and/or knows how to soften it? I've tried warming it up but that only works until it cools back down again (big surprise)
