They might open up before the end of the year. If PTP and BTN's recruiting history before the end of WCD is anything to go by they like to take it in turns offering recruitment. PTP threads will be up for a couple of months I'm guessing, they'll go to 500-1000 over their cap before they decide to close their doors, then BTN will sit with their thumb up their ass for a bit then start recruitment. I think December is a somewhat reasonable expectation but don't be surprised if it goes into Q1 2018.

i do like btn as the biggest tv tracker. I find most of the content i want and invite forums are really good.

They miss lots of content though (!) mostly encodes from hdbits. And we talking for some well known series, not some niche shit (talking about p2p encodes).
Also, its a huge pain in the eye to browse and find shit. I still prefer hdbits for my daily tv needs.

On the other hand, browsing ptp is an experience on its own. Movie rating, discovery and comments under movies are pretty good too. In addition, forums are a lot more active than those on btn.
Seems like all Betrayed did during his admin time was just hunt down traders/sellers. Btn needs serious development.

I really do not understand the hate against 312c. Did he ban you or what? Sure, the guy is rude and probably not very nice to work with. But that doesn't really concern average users.

The guy has put enormous amount of time and work towards building a better and more secure site. There really are not that many skilled developers who are doing that. Most of the trackers, even cabal ones have barely improved their sites. BTN and their backups are a joke and HDB is dated. Not even worth mentioning something like Apollo.

At least there are AHD/EMP/NWCD which are putting some effort to actually develop something better.

Not so much a fan of your theory about NWCD. Doing work on your tracker is great. Committing to pointless trump chains over and over damns your tracker to be a niche tracker with to <100K torrents forever since there are only so many times people will re-rip content every time EAC and XLD come out with new versions, or a staffer has a new opinion about the validity of logcheckers. RED did it once early on and that may be about as many times as you get to get away with something like that. What.CD did it once, too. Both of those sites took unusual steps afterward - RED with "100% but trumpable", What.CD with "grandfathered but if you re-upload it as a tag trump (or whatever) it will never be 100% again).

I'm a fan of RED, not going to lie there. But I couldn't have compared NWCD to your other three examples, since I'm only on PTP for movies and BTN for television. It's just NWCD's decisions that puzzle me. Some of them are very good if you make them very early (folder names for example). Some of them are very bad if you make them once you already have people uploading en masse (pretty much anything that makes 20% or more of the site trumpable).

I'm sure most of those stories contain the phrases "for nothing" or "didn't even do anything wrong", because people always have an agenda to sell when they're trying to get back onto their trackers.

A lot of the /ptg/ memes complicate it by convincing people that there is this mysterious conspiracy of staffers out to get them if so much as suspicion leaks out that they even read /ptg/ (when nobody actually cares), so people do stupid things like show up in tracker disabled channels and lie.

A lot of these lies turn what could have been a simple resolution of "fine, but you won't get invites back for six months" into account disablings. When memes attack.
