Nyaa.si has their own tracker (nyaa.tracker.wf) that appears to update the stats on their site directly. This is instant.
Pantsu has another program they run that scrapes public trackers (I think coppersurfer.tk) for stats, which evidently crashes a lot, because Pantsu is too stupid to scrape anything properly.

SQLite has FTS4 and FTS5. I haven't seen any benchmarks, but judging from https://www.sqlite.org/fts3.html (1.4. Simple FTS Queries and 6.6. The prefix= option) it should just be a few reads from the database. There is also SQLightning which if I understand correctly will SQLite have speed close to LMDB (extremely fast, close to I/O bottlenecked)
