not at all and that would be completely retarded, why would the average chad and stacy want fucking code to ruin their grades? Even math is completely optional after GCSE in UK because 99% of people never need it in their lives beyond basic multiplication/division
that said, i was in a pretty expensive private school, your argument is invalid and shows that schools in america are retard-central
>It's like saying you forgot how to multiply numbers because you haven't done arithmetic for a while.
Yeah, that would happen, the difference is, we use math everyday subconsciously, we don't think in terms of code at all outside of coding. One thing is understanding the logic of doing something and a completely other thing is doing it and writing it in code. Your
>can't use loops

I'm not one of the guys fucking with you, but are you sure you're taking programming classes? When I finished my undergrad, the first thing we were taught was "Learning to Integrate Programmatic Thinking Models" where we had to start associating regular systems in our lives within a software interpretation lense. I've worked with guys from all different backgrounds, but most of them learned this as their first lessons. I legitimately recommend talking to the chair of your Computer Science department about why your uni doesn't have this seminal class.

Turtle-programming has been around for several decades and hardly "eats into grades" of anyone. I'm not from America and again, Logo is standard curriculum in many European middle schools. I'm not sure why you would call it retarded when it's clearly usable knowledge and you seem to be lacking it severely.

god not existing is not a fact and not an opinion
god existing would be a claim and the one claiming would have the the burden of proof but since most scientific proofs are by observation there is no real proof yet thus one might not belive in god
most of the times religion is more of a philosophy anyway so you dont argue about god directly but about the things that would be if he was in the same way you would argue about any other philosophy

biological male however, is a term well defined and because of that we can decide with 100% accuracy who is and who is not a biological male

I hope that solves your confusion about opinions and facts

how can science prove something if it's not complete? If science itself isn't a complete rule-set and never will be because half of it is just commonly agreed perceptions based on assumptions of some assholes from a thousand years ago? Only people that treat science like a religion believe that science can explain everything. No it can't, not currently, not for a very long time, most likely not ever, and using it as an absolute in any case is stupid, nevermind one regarding something as complicated as humans which we don't know jackshit about.
> term well defined
by who? how can it be defined? all we know is that XY means penis and XX means vagina, and even that's not always the case considering all sorts of "disorder" exceptions like XXY and such. Everything else is something someone made up because it felt 'neat' and 'fit' but that's just a way to label something for easier understanding by brainlets, it has nothing to do with the actual truth if there is one or an essence of a thing or a person. We are people, we are alive, that's just words we use, we do not understand the essence or their meaning and relying on that knowledge as 100% accurate is just unscientific

>thank the terrorist
what does that have to do with anything? i think extremists of all kinds should be dealt with, i never said i supported terrorists in any way. I think ISIS, nazis, white supremacists, extremist christians and just any kind of terrorists need to be punished for their crimes. And the thing is, you are basically a lot like those terrorists, you don't shoot the bullets they shoot because you're too much of a pussy but you spread their words of hate, you're spreading their cancer in our society and nobody can kill you for it because you don't murder people. science proofs something by observation and that is very well possible even if science is not complete
e.g.: The correlation between the mass and volume of water is constant. This can be proven easily by some tests (observation).

All terms defined by humankind are defined by humankind because they are useful descriptions for some condition (a shortcut for something if you want so). "Biologically Male" is a useful term in many things mostly Human biology since there are differences between man and woman and more importantly in this case it's the thing people mean when they refer to a "man" in day to day life.

That example is non related to what you are trying to prove we can decide that with 100% accuracy even if we can't "decide with 100% accuracy that our planet isn't just gonna explode in like 10 minutes" "nigga"

I hope this solves your confusion about science. nihilism is not a very good philosophy btw since you are trying to argue by just saying everything is meaningless anyway which is not a valid argument.

For females everything is 100% appearance.
>>
>>62323204
>science proofs something by observation and that is very well possible even if science is not complete
and? in that case sure science can get things right i'm not saying that all science is false but that it is not an absolute either.

>All terms defined by humankind
no, most terms are defined by a bunch of random people and most other people roll with it cuz they're the majority, those definitions change with time as new discoveries are made, they are not an absolute nor are they even constant. Hundreds of years ago our perception of the world differed from today, 100 years from now our perception of the world will be different yet again and our current scientific state will look like stone-age stuff to joke about.

>"Biologically Male" is a useful term
not at all actually, in almost every non-medical scenario we refer to a person's gender, not sex, we do not have x-ray vision to see everyone's chromosomes or something, so in reality, we are referring to our perception of their current social presentation based on a social construct we are taught since birth. But that's beside the issue. Those "useful terms" most of the time are incorrectly assumed to be 100% accurate truths, which they are not and never will be, denying that a trans woman is a woman is only possible if you use that term and the science behind it as an absolute which it isn't, they are just terms.
I'm not saying they are bad, as you said, they are useful, but only as just that. Terms and labels, nothing more, nothing less, they don't have a real meaning, just the meaning the majority assigned to them.
>we can decide that with 100% accuracy
but we can't, that's the issue, we can assign our labels all we want but that does not change the essence, thus it only really shows your ignorance towards the complexity of the issue and hate for trans people by assigning a meaningless label to them just to show hate.
You can call an MtF a man but that doesn't change anything, she's a woman.

the 'truth' only matters for some retarded scales of autism on 4chan, what matters is if you got the paper where it says how eager you are to work, how good your uni degree is and your previous experience, doesn't matter if any of it is true at all, what matters is that you give that impression and make that impression the perception that another person considers truth and thus you make it true.

Then prove that I'm not right this time.

Why should we change them now? (Normally the minority "the scientists" define scientific terms, not the majority)

Not true. The scenarios I can think about are: Mating partners, mentioning a 3rd person, Gender separation (Bathrooms, locker rooms etc.). On all of those, I would use the biological sex of the person in question.

We can in this case. The definition as it is is still fit and used (If you want or not) and it's so clearly defined that we can 100% say that person is biologically male. That means he will never have a child with a man and he will be referred to as "he" (outside his echo chamber) and he will play in the man's team in sports because he still has attributes and skills that are male specific.

>Have you just learned all products up to [some number] and never found out how iterative it seemed ?

That is literally how children are taught multiplication though: The HOW/WHY isn't explained. Kids are told to memorize a times-table.

A huge amount of math can be done without any actual thinking, just rote memorization and step-by-step processes. Quite honestly, proofs need to be taught in elementary classes, not college or advanced highschool - and parents need to stop being dumbfucks who teach their kids that math is hard/impossible. It's like these morons glorify ignorance and try to pass that onto their kids on purpose.

>>62323652
Just using the word "rigorous" is already making proofs out to be more difficult than they are in reality. You're as much an ignoramus as the parents I was criticizing.

Kids can easily learn this stuff and they can learn it well before they even understand algebra. It should be one of the first things taught, not something that's left as an elective.

Proofs teach kids to THINK and FIGURE OUT mathematical concepts. Rather than rote memorization, they actually learn. Preface a lesson with a proof; it allows kids to re-create formulas without memorization and leads to significantly better understanding of the math.

That's true the second you install. But anytime you update, X will automatically break. With every update, each program is randomly broken to a random state. You have to micro-manage your updates on each individual package and maintain a separate staging environment to test each new update before committing to it on your main computer because lmao no rollbacks.

Rest is pretty accurate I'd say.

the wine-development package isn't "bleeding-edge", it's the latest stable release. the default wine package is "stable" in debian's naming scheme - which translates to "whatever was the current stable during last freeze". for bleeding-edge you'd use 2.16 from

this is expected behavior because the assignment operator returns the assigned value. It's still stupid
>>
>>62332235
>surely it should be '==' instead of '=' as '=' would mean that "tweeter" is always "gamergater"
What this faggot did is equivalent to:
>if(Gamergater) {...}
>else if(Negative) { ...}
It "works" because he effectively eliminates the logic that the conditions were supposed to portray and replaces it with flags.

So in other words /g/ got massively rekt by this tweet?

>This is usually what is wanted from you when you're given this exercise.
At the very least, your code is supposed to work for all integer values (which it doesn't). Whether or not your teacher/lecturer would accept a shit-tier O(N) solution or encourage you to come up with something better depends on the quality of the teacher/lecturer and the average brainletism level of the students (which in your case seems to be quite high).
>>
>>62332371
>So in other words /g/ got massively rekt by this tweet?
No, so in other words it accidentally (unbeknownst to the author) works if we assume that tweets and tweet senders are booleans (which they aren't).
>>
>>62332371
only if you assume that tweeter and Gamergater are bools which does not really make sense. honestly it makes more sense as a whole to write it like this:
if(tweeter.is_gamergater())
{
.
.
.
}
otherwise the comparison operator of tweeter would have to only test for a gamergater flag which is just as stupid as having a tweeter and gamergater bool

this works because you assinged 0. i was talking abpout gamergate and tweeter beeing objects you cant possibly make the assignment version work for that without assigning NULL which is stupid and youd look like an idiot doing it.
It jsut does not work in a real-world scenario

I'm not him but I was given this exercise on my first weeks of coding (I had 45 minutes of theory per week) and we never looked at it again. They actually told us in the exercise to use the '+' operator. The way I see it the goal was to have us use a loop and not to re-implement the '*' operator.

Where is the if else condition on gamergaters? Without it the whole thing is changed. Although i admit i was being a bit hyperbolic when i said barely resembled.
>>
>>62332923
All you need to do is define another class with a similar implicit conversion to bool and create instances of it for the else-if condition. Not difficult, just tedious.
>>
>>62332708
>being this fucking retarded
No matter what you do and how many layers of obfuscation you throw at it, the code can only ever make sense if tweets and tweeters are effectively boolean (zero - gamergater, non-zero - non-gamergater), (zero - negative tweet, non-zero - not negative tweet) and contain no other useful information.

>>62332961

Then your lecturer/teacher was incompetent, and wasted an otherwise very good exercise that touches on many programming concepts on teaching loops.

>desperately trying to get around the fundamental fact that the code tries to convert tweets into booleans, and then to decide whether they are negative on the basis of the result of the conversion, which makes absolutely no sense
Specifying the meaning of such a conversion for the explicit purpose of making this piece of code work doesn't make it any less inherently nonsensical.
