I've been using private trackers since the mid-2000s and never had an issue until a couple years ago.
It happened on a cabal site where I was in great standing nearly since the beginning of its existence (above PU without even trying).
A particular admin banned me over a personal vendetta despite the fact that I never interacted with him.
At one point I had invites on said tracker, but never used them.
I never thought of creating a dupe account because I was a "good citizen" that abided by the rules.
In hindsight, I should have done something useful with those invites.

Yeah I remove almost all metadata except artist, track#, albumartist, year, albumname, disc#
I also always add an albumartist if it isn't present already
ofcourse I also remove embedded images and include just one cover.jpg in the folder
I also always get rid of other stuff in the folder except artwork, I put that in a seperate folder in the music folder but logs and cues are lost. Sometimes it's a slightly rushed hdmaniacs encode or bloated one by some other group. Sometimes the encode doesn't include proper forced subs. Stuff like that.

You can't actually trump them easily if they have only minor problems like those above. It's not that huge of a deal but still. When grabbing something from PTP you know it's good but it might or might not be the best copy around. When you grab it from HDB(if it's even availabe there) it's basically guaranteed.

The lesser trackers get a lot of the content filtered down so it's not super important to be on the better ones. I'm on HDB, PTP and BTN, and also many of the shitter ones because I do see the importance of supporting alternative trackers, always good to have options if push comes to shove.
