I've been moderating a tracker for about a year now and I am at the road's end in terms of what to do.
Our tracker runs on a modern script that still has flaws. I will update the password hashing to one of the most secure options out there and I want to invest lots of my own money into the tracker to make it as modern and user friendly as I can.
I have a huge passion for movies and I wanted to build a competing and beautiful place for people to share what they want, and if shit hits the fan, well I'd rather take the fall than having my members suffer, so obviously security has been one of my main concerns in recent months and I have occasionally had stressful nights always wondering, is it enough?
I'm not sure what people are exactly after when they're looking for a tracker as I am relatively new to the role of power and have been doing my best to keep the place afloat for the better part of 2016.
My website has also suffered from a bad reputation for a while and that has kinda winded me down as the stress of keeping the site up and the users happy is my number one concern, and adding up that I am young without years of experience you'd need to deal with this sort of thing has had the website dwindle into obscurity.
I was hoping any experienced tracker admin or torrent user could hand out some good advice on what to focus on in terms of security, features and ways to improve the website in overall to harness members satisfaction. I've wanted to post here for a while but held it off because of the stigma reddit seems to share against our site, and I don't want my users to be uncomfortable, but I really need any advice that I can receive to make sure that another website doesn't have to bite the dust.
