you are totally retarted.

tp-link is cheap chinese crap. also they started to block 3rd party firmwares recently.
>>
That never was the router of choice. Any modern ASUS with Merlin firmware, or any other router with custom firmware are better options.
>>
well what is the /g/ router of choice now then?
>>
>>62297460
miwifi
>>
>being autistic
>not just using the free router provided by your ISP
>thinking you're outsmarting the jews by using your own router when you're actually paying them an extra $84.99 plus tip for nothing

you are retarded

well this is /g/............
>>
later model wrt1900 series. The c7 archer is fine so long as you get the 2.0 version.

So long as its a dual core and 512mb+ of ram with solid open source wifi drivers, Its /g/ approved.

holy shit high price
>>
as the other anon said, any Asus router with merlin firmware loaded on it. shit just works, gets frequent updates, and the cost is pretty reasonable.
>>
>>62297425
how can i install merlin on an asus DSL-AC56U
>>
>>62297709
>merlin
I shall have to look this up

Why?
You know OP, I'd rather look at something Xiaomi, they have a gigabit router now, should be OpenWRT-flashable.
>>
>>62297885
i shall look into that as well
>>
>>62297358

lol nice try fagtron. Anyone who actually replied to this shit with an even remotely helpful response is a dumbass. This guy is posting something incorrect so people correct him, instead of asking a question because we're not his personal helpdesk.

Nah lad
I have a ac68u. The firmware is getting more an more locked down. You can't max out power amd select any band anymore.
Also it's broadcom so openwrt never, you're forever stuck with proprietary blobs.

>>62297480
>being this fucking stupid
>using the router provided by ISP which in many cases is 10 dollars a month
