I actually considering going through with it and i do not know if I should. I like the clean design i am going for. So is this a bad idea?

>I like
Buy it then. Never care what /g/ thinks, if they had their way everyone would be using plastic Thinkpad shitboxes
Just buy a normal PC for about 1k
If you're only interested in a Mac for its looks then you're doing it wrong.
If you like it, have the means to buy it, and you've evaluated that it's a solid investment, then do so.
But you fucking won't. As usual.

This. Instead of getting durable ~$200 computers that can run to 3.2 GHz under max load and have components easily upgraded or replaced everyone should get ~$1,000 fragile and flimsy computers that constantly throttle to 0.8 GHz under moderate load that require advanced reverse engineering and soldering skills to replace hardware but literally can't upgrade.

>$2200 dual-core facebook machine
Wise choice. Go for it.
>>62292485
Wait hold on, it is worse. You are not comparing left and right, you want both.
>$3950 dual-core facebook machine
Very wise choice. Go for it.
>2200 for a non upgradeable laptop thatll be obsolete next year
JUST FUCK MY WALLET UP
>>62292029
do it. it's super comfy. and if you're in school make sure you go through the academic site to get that sweet discount (at least 10-15%)
>shit keyboard
>touch gimmick
>crippled battery
>dongle madness
Just get the last year mbp if you're aching for a mac. Though judging by the amount of peripherals it's going to be a gayman machine which will be taken out of the house once in a blue moon to browse 4chan and watch youtube, so you should stop lying to yourself and get a PC and a shitty android tablet for less money.

>if you press too lightly or too hard it does something completely different than what you intended
>shit tier 1mm travel chiclet kb
>OSX is a steaming pile of shit with horrendous battery management
>applel's solution is to cram in a massive heavy 95WHr battery to make up for it
>even XXXTREME GAMER cancer like razer blade with 4X the CPU/GPU power and 70WHr battery matches it in battery life in same tasks
>gets BTFO by 55WHr Yoga 2 in battery life in same tasks
>the battery takes up the space where a cooling system would've been in a laptop not designed by the world's thinnest and lightest gay hipsters
>overheats constantly from abysmal crippled cooling system
>throttles to 800mhz due to chronic overheating problems
>retina meme for "pros" have have <70% aRGB

>blurry as shit retina meme scaling

Can we finally put an end to this meme?

What's to hate about a commercially supported UNIX system with no systemd shit and a very polished UI?
>>62292029
Do you really need those specs? The touchbar/butterfly keyboard? 16gigs on a i5-U processor? Seems like you could get a non touch-bar model from the year before which should have a better keyboard and battery life while getting by with 8gb ram.
>>62292029
I don't see the point of the shit on the right, you can get a desktop with a 7700K or Ryzen CPU for not a lot more. Much better than the shitty dual core CPU in the 13" MacBook Pro.
