I, for one, welcome our new WebExtensions overlords.

Not sure if true, but someone told me that stylus has some pretty serious bot-net shit going or something like that..
Can someone explain?

what apocalypse?
>>
>>62281588
You're confused. Stylus is the new free as in freedom alternative to Stylish, which is the one that became a botnet.
>>
>>62281588
>Stylus collects nothing. Period.
From their privacy policy.
Didn't check if they're telling the truth, didn't review the code, didn't sniff traffic, so I guess it's meaningless.

Using Firefox nightly right now on my Android. Working like a charmerino.
>>
>>62281692
Even better - use chrome
>>

Thanks guys

>>
>>62281791
I can't use add-ons on chrome though?
>>
>>62281791
Chrome for Android 8s ridiculously gimped compared to both its own desktop version and Firefox for Android. You can't even install uBlock let alone any extensions at all.
>>
Is Privacy Badger really useful if you have uMatrix and uBlock Origin?
>>
>>62281912
nah it's a meme, does the same thing
>>
>>62281639
privacy badger is useless, just use the filters in ublock
>>
>>62281235
NO. Fucking NO. uMatrix is ages away from WebExtensions.
>>
>>62281252
if they're so "simple" why dont you fix them?
>>62281588
why not just unzip the extension and look at the source code yourself?
>>
>>62282004
It has literally been aviable on Chromium for ages, porting it is extremely trivial.

>>

uMatrix is already available as a Webextension. Just go to the Github page and install it.
>>
>>62282132
impressive
>>
>>62282141
You can install it from AMO. It literally just takes scrolling down to the bottom of the page.

the ones I know of will all die with 57

Good question. I too am wondering. HTTPS Everywhere does have a webext version though.

uBlock Origin. Haven't seen an anti-adblocker message since I installed it.

I'm not even using any special filters, just the default ones.

I'm also addicted to crack cocaine.

I use it only to filter out the retarded subreddits (/r/TIL, /r/KenM... what the fuck is up with that?)
>>
>>62283064
Well have you tried the anti adblock killer userscript? Turn on that filter in uBlock and install the userscript

ive tried both and it seems like smart https is faster but if you're on a chrome based browser than you'll have to use https everywhere when the web extensions come to ff

You still need the userscript
Click that little 'i' icon next to the entry and it'll open the page with instructions

Not necessarily, but it's a nice bit of information to have.
I wish it worked on TMDB as well since I use it more than IMDB.
>>
TIL there is a working Tree Style Tabs webextension on Github.

>>
All-in-One Sidebar replacement?
>>
>>62284210
Can't have your own custom website and you can't execute an os program, like a video player with an url, from an add-on anymore, because they cannot access local files.
You also can't access localstorage iirc.

It breaks a couple of add-ons, but also adds a layer of security.

I'm not really affected but I can see how it could possibly annoy people.
>>
>>62284272
>you can't execute an os program, like a video player with an url

Open with has a working WebExtension prototype.
>>
>>62284293
Yeah, by constantly running a python script listener on your system.

You could also host your custom website somewhere and use that link instead of a file:/// url.

Of course there are workarounds, but they all require you to do something outside of the browser.

i'll only really miss vimperator but vimium is ok so far, the whole browsing speed improvement kinda makes up for it
>>
>>62283017
More important, someone should create a deleter for IndexedDB, with exceptions for domains.
More, Firefox should make an allow toggle for Indexeddb.
>>
Does firefox 57 support webp?
>>
>>62281235
What will replace classic theme restorer?
>>
Does anyone know a working private tabs plugin for FF57?
>>
>>62285221
afaik it isn't possible.
People are suggesting containers as a replacement, but when I tried it didn't really work.
>>
>>62285280
That's a shame. Switching to an extra windows to browse sites I don't want in my history is a major pain in the ass.
