good evening /g/
I was wondering if there was a way to track a persons location by entering in their email address?
subsequent question:
what is the most effective way to slash and burn any and all info the internet might have saved on you? I'm applying for a job that has reasonable security clearance and I don't want my stupid comments as an edgy teenager to ruin my chances. thanks!

No.
And pretty much no. The internet never forgets.

are you sure? because I remember there being some website where if you typed in an email address it would give you a general location of where the person who used that address was accessing it from.

How would that even work?

I have no idea, I just know I used it before and it managed to find a general area near me (within 100 miles). I think it has something to do with which IP addresses make callouts to what email addresses. (IE: your IP makes a request to google for your email, so there's a history of that IP calling that particualr email address, and you can trace the IP back to a particular location.. or something)

if you can get them to send you an email then you can get their ip address from that email, if you already have an email from them then look for an additional information option depending on your email provider it will be in a different area, it's usually in the code
once you have the ip you can reverse search it through a website to find out their location within a 20 mile radius, anything more than that is too much
alternatively you can plug the ip into nmap if you knoe how to use that and access their system through telnet or a similar method
what happens after that I won't go into here and you'll have to look it up on your own
we don't need anymore script kiddies running around

and as for your information needing to be erased if you live in europe you can request the search provider remove all links to you, was a court case some years back about that a spanish or italian guy?
best you can do other than that is set all accounts such as facebook and twitter to be as private as possible so no one can see the posts
or
you can search yourself and individually harass each website to take down the info of you they have up, will require proof of id most likely
