I currently have all things Google at the moment, I'm thinking of changing everything over to Microsoft ecosystem. Was wondering if any of you /g/uys have this setup. For example, Outlook.com for your email, Onedrive instead of Google Drive, etc. Thanks.
>>
I just use both.

My only concern is, nobody has anything remotely close to Google Photos and that thing is the bee's knees.
>>
>>62274129
Yeah there are obviously going to be services you side much more with. Photos is comfy. Bing Porn Video searches are comfy. So on and so on~

So... what would you suggest?
>>
Why switch over?
>>
>>62274192
Using both for different reasons depending on your wants and needs.
I think the only services I use both of equally are cloud storage and email.
>>
>>62274084
Google is huge evil and privacy nightmare.

But Microsoft is celestial body big:

http://techrights.org/wiki/index.php/Microsoft_and_the_NSA

It would be your worse mistake to move your data / services to Microsoft. The last and only compromise you should make with Microsoft is running windows without internet or inside a virtual machine for your work software and that's about it.

Yes OP, I mainly use Microsoft.

Fact is, Google is not trustworthy.
MS at least is not into politics and if they steal data, whic is unlikely, what they gonna do? Sell me an Office subscription? Xbox Live subscription?

Onedrive is pretty nice, one is that it came with my system the other is my school gave me a business account
>>
>>62274255
>trusting a company which will try to sell you ads and use your data to do so no matter how intrusive they become vs a company that wants you to buy an xbox
hmmmmmmmm tough choice!
>>
>>62274084
Why would you use Microsoft services? They're shit.
>>
Yeah, Outlook is fine. Has good integration with desktop client, phone client and in-browser client. So, you can have it on pretty much any OS or platform you like.

OneDrive also is fast, synchs well and it's usable.

That doesn't mean Microsoft is Snow White. Any big company wants to use your profile as a resource.

The difference is, Microsoft doesn't get most of their money from selling ads based on profiling you, like Google. They get money from many sources, mostly from the cloud and Office business. Unlike Google who gets like 90% of revenue from ads.

So, pick your poison.
>>
>>62274327
They have equal access to your data by default, the only difference is you can block Google from your life and they put effort into open source software. So, even if they're both terrible companies Microsoft is more shit no matter how you try to rationalize it. Their new OS is literal malware.
>>
>>62274327
I honestly advocate for not trusting any of them I did not even imply in my post to trust any of them actually I've told OP that his privacy is worse with Microsoft than with Google contrary to his belief.

Also your post kinda lacks effort I don't know why I even bothered to reply.
>>
>>62274378
>the only difference is you can block Google from your life
You really think they would let you ruin their couple dozen billion dollar industry? Easily "opt out"? Poor thing, he believes adding a suffix to his wifi name is going to make google stop using his data!
>>
>>62274395
You bothered to reply because you realized that you sounded like a google shill and it bothered you.
>>
>>62274327
Does apple has services like Microsoft and Google?
never touched an iphone, but it's good to know
>>
Does Google actually scan your Drive documents? Does MS do this for OneDrive? How about Dropbox? I need to back up my disgusting fetish stories as well as many thousands of hentai images.
>>
>>62274084
I only use Microsoft for Windows and MS Office
I use Google for everything else.
>>
>>62274421
Yes, they're the optimal choice here for sure.
>>
>>62274398
Go drink some bleach, shit for brains.
>>
>>62274084
why
>>
>>62274398
How retarded are you?

>>62274429
Google uses an automatic scanner software, Microsoft forces it's employees to manually read email. As for storage I'm pretty sure they wouldn't bother looking at it manually but they do scan it and compare hashes which they'll in future use to find copyrighted and illegal material.
>>
>>62274471

Hopefully you guys changed your wifi name though, gotta opt out of that google data!
Also stop using 4chan, we've got google's finger up our asses here too :3

Switched everything to Yandex.
>>
>>62274471
bullshit
nobody was ever arrested for pinpointing bin laden's bomb locations all over the usa in the last decade
me myself used to paste that crap in skype during the meme days

A whole lot less retarded than you clearly are.
>>
>>62274378
>and they put effort into open source software
MS is one of the major contributors to Linux and they engage with the free software community quite a lot with things like .NET and VS code.

>Their new OS is literal malware
All Windows versions post-2k are malware, but OP is talking about web services and not the Windows operating system.
>>
>>62274421
Yes, they're high quality and almost 100% encrypted even from Apple, but Apple still does collect some metadata. They won't give encryption algorithms to the government but they will share your metadata without warrant (ex, the kid who gave eichenwald a seizure was traced to Twitter made on an iPhone and tied to an appleID which Apple used to share his account info, address, name).
However, apple is the most privacy and security minded with its services, and beats google and android hands down on privacy, even though they're not exactly a shining example themselves. Microsoft would be marginally better than Google IMHO, and I would use neither.
>>
>>62274471
>Microsoft forces it's employees to manually read email.

I gotta ask, do you have a salsa on this?
>>
>>62274755
>Apple releases your information whenever a Jew cries about it.
Yeah, no. Fuck that.

Do you have no idea how open source licensing works, or are you just retarded.

getting locked into a microsoft ecosystem is not my idea of a good time even though I've never done it

enjoy pajeets looking at everything you do

Both are selling you out and your privacy. Why switch? If you're fine with that just keep things as they are and save the hassle.
>>
>>62274651
>quite a lot
Except it's nothing compared to what Google releases as open source. eg. the most popular operating system in the world.
>>
>>62274793
Literally all the big names do the same thing dude. Grow the fuck up, or don't use cloud services whatsoever, or separate your cloud identity from your faggot identity WOW OMG PROBLEM SOLVED.
>>
>>62275718
>Literally all the big names do the same thing dude.
All the big names tell Twitter who you are when a Jew says your meme triggered a seizure? Doubt it. I'll stick with LineageOS.
>>
I do a bastard version of this where everything except the main Google account on my phone and Google Voice are with MS. I can't fully make the switch because of those two, and Google is not at all appealing enough for me to use it for anything else.

I find the Outlook app to be good enough for email and very handy for calendar and cloud integration all in one place. The new design of the webmail page is pretty good too. Office Online gets top marks from me.
>>
>>62275782

Are you me Anon? I do exactly this, and yeah Outlook is the shit, has no equal imo
