Can we take a moment to appreciate how amazing vim is?

I agree vim is awesome
You know what else is awesome?
copyq clipboard manager is awesome.
whoever makes these threads probably has only 2 days under their belt of trying vim and now they're so happy they're about to take a journey into vim-exclusivity text editing only to switch back to sublime text because they are mouse fags that can't muscle memory

:set mouse=a
Is this the thing where I have to press x to backspace and turns something as simple as a text editor into an annoying experience?
I wanted to select a good terminal emulator a few months back, was between vim and emacs.
Because I was learning touch typing at the same time, I had the (false?) impression that you need the two index fingers at h and j, contradicting the standard finger position at touch typing.
So I went emacs.

actually it is vi that is great. vim as a software project is an embarrassing clusterfuck, its UI is the only good thing about it, and that came almost entirely from vi.

also this.

"Vim is a highly configurable text editor built to make creating and changing any kind of text very efficient."
