I was a win7 fanboy as well. Mainly because of bad experience with win8. 10 is miles better in it's current state. Try it for a week and you will get used to it. One thing i still hate about it is the new settings app. Simple solution: You don't have to use it. The old interface is still there and you can use it like in win7. At least they give you a choice.
>>62228702
>You don't have to use it.
But you do. Unless you go into registry editing or something, you have to use the new Settings for some things.
Anyway, I use both 7 and 10 regularly. I honestly can't say 10 is better. It has a few small UI improvements, but it's also kinda buggy and unfinished overall. There are way too many "big" upgrades that fuck something up, 7 just werks.
I tried Windows 10 and somehow managed to bork the start menu from working within the first 5 minutes. Clicking the start icon did nothing. Restarting didn't fix it. Not sure if it was a feature or a bug given how ugly the start menu was when it actually worked. No thank you.

XP still had 50-60% of the market 2 years after 7 came out too, what's your point? Windows users hate to upgrade but when they're forced to they'd rather upgrade than change to Linux for example (for the most part). I know some people here will swear they're moving to Linux, but they said the same thing about being forced to upgrade from XP so I don't take them seriously.
Corporations also only upgrade like once a decade which is a big reason for older versions of Windows to retain large market share. It's not going to be entirely accurate, but you can get a sort of general idea about how normalfags are adopting 10 by looking at Steam as it's pretty much guaranteed for your typical normalfag to have a Steam account.
>>62229884

Difference is 7 was objectively a great option to upgrade to. 7 to 10 is just slightly better at best and a privacy nightmare at worst.

It is not Microcuck's fault you are a retarded halfwit.
>>62230869
Yes you can. RAM is so fucking cheap. It is the cheapest upgrade you can possibly give a PC and has been since the early 2000s. You are just a fucking jew and/or too retarded to know how to install it.
>>62239269
Have you seen RAM prices recently?
I already had to switch to Windows 10 LTSB, don't rub it in.
>>62239398
They are only up like 50% of what they were in early 2016 at the highest end RAM. 50% increase is piss cheap is still piss cheap. Keep being a jew. Everyone else will be laughing at you.
>>62239464
Not him but £35 worth of RAM from a year ago is upwards of £80 (~$100) right now. Unless you really need the RAM it would be a foolish purchase. It doesn't matter if you can afford it or not, price-fixing gooks don't deserve money.

Here, I formatted your data in a not-retarded way. Japan is obviously a big enough outlier that it should be counted separately from "Asia". I'd suggest there's a similar difference between Western Europe and Eastern Europe (10 being at 54.78% in the UK and only 37.61% in Poland), but I can't be bothered to look up that data individually for every country because that site is slow and unresponsive as hell.

Even Windows XP and 7 and any other Windows version isn't usable. All crashy and spammy.
Android is even worse than Windows (just when you thought it can't get wore).
I've switched to Ubuntu, and switched back to Windows again, and it hurt, I lost time and had to organize my system again from the begining.
I don't remember why exactly I switched back, maybe I was stupid, maybe I was right, but I don't want to risk it now again, since I remember it hurt switching.
I didn't like Ubuntu probably because of low support, compatibility etc. Although now I need less features, I only browse 4chan most of the time and that's it.
>>62240328
>Even Windows XP and 7 and any other Windows version isn't usable. All crashy and spammy.
No. Just no. I routinely get over 100 days of uptime (if I want to procrastinate on updates) out of Windows 7. Currently I have over 500 chrome tabs going with Adneauseum.
You don't know what you are talking about. Windows 7 is solid as fuck. The only reason I'm switching to Ubuntu 18.04LTS when it comes out is for the privacy and security benefits.
>>62239204
I don't update, ofc I've learned how to use it without support. I don't trust anything they push out as updates anymore. DX11 games should mostly work without many updates, it's the libraries/runtimes that need updating. But then they push secret telemetry updates anyway in those...

you make a good point, but I want a really well tested kernel, and Ubuntu owns that. The amazon shit was easy enough to remove. I still might go Debian, but I'd like the most recent and well tested kernel.

It's not under your control, if you run software with security holes then someone can exploit those security holes. You don't have to run britney_spears_boobs.jpg.avi.exe to get infected if you use an out of date system with a million well documented remote execution and privilege escalation exploits.
>b-but im fine!
There are plenty of people who ride bikes without helmets because they're "not retarded" and totally don't need protective gear. Sure you may have gotten away with it so far, but "it hasn't happened to me yet" is not any indicator of the likelihood if it happening to you in the future. Every time you take your bike out you take the same risk of getting your skull caved in because you thought a helmet was unnecessary.
There is zero reason to not install updates, and before you cry about bundled botnet, Windows has had a universal backdoor since XP. You're already balls deep in the botnet just by using a modern Windows OS, all you do by not installing updates is make your computer a nice target for Ivan and his botnet as well as Bill's botnet.
