Do you use a streaming box, /g/? Which one?
>mfw Roku Express+
gramps you need to upgrade.
>>62207038
damn nigga get a new tv
>>62207038
>Streaming to that
Raspberry Pi with kodi for me.
Plex & a Chromecast. Been really pleased with the Chromecast. My TV is from Roku, but the built-in applications for it are pretty bad, they're only useful if the Chromecast isn't working.
>>62207047
to add constructive conversation, go on craigslist and search free shit or even electronics. You will find a free tv better than this or atleast a cheap one in the <$50 range.
>>62207047
>upgrade
Why would he? It has all the functionality of a SmartTV!
>>62207076
the picture quality is shit.
>>62207081
>he fell for the 4K meme
You honestly can't tell a difference in PPI after a certain distance.
Sit 6' from a CRT and it looks the same as a 4K UHD flat-panel from 20'.
>>62207099
>480i is ok pic quality
I bet you are the guy that thinks a Thai tranny is a suitable substitute for a japanese waifu.
>>62207038 Sonarr, Plex server and Samsung TV app. But they dont work perfectly, so most of the time I just watch stuff on PC.
>>62207146
480i is better for watching low-budget, because then the CGI and effects don't look as terrible.
>>62207190
>watching cgi films
anon don't be reddit.
>>62207038
Google killed the native YouTube app on my Philips tv só I bought the Chromecast
>>62207268
>Chromecast
>>62207222
Name one (1) film released in the last year that didn't use CGI in some capacity.
himedia q10 pro
>>62207038
I do the same with an Android Box and one of those TV's and I had to change the line lcd_density in build.prop from 160 to 240 to be enjoyable
>>62207038
>old crt
nice
>for general viewing, not for retro vidya and old video
literally why
>>62208336
>VCR
>pile of tapes
>not for old video
What did he mean by this?
>>62208372
I meant exclusively.
>>62207038
>dat aspect ratio tho
>>62207099
even if the screen on the CRT is flat the image can be warped because magnetic fields. in fact I used to have a Wega a long time ago and that distortion was the fucking worst
Also, overscan
>>62208400
Why would you have a CRT for ONE purpose, though? If it still works as a TV, why not keep using it as a TV? Why cripple it to one function (retro games, retro video, etc.)?
>>62207056
Can you set up a RPi so that it can have Kodi plus another OS. I guess what I'm trying to ask is if you can dual boot it.
I have an RPi with that emulator OS on it. I forgot the name because it's picking up dust. If I can keep that but add Kodi on there it'd be pretty cool
>not having a multiformat CRT that supports 480p and 720p so you can enjoy retro gaming with the highest possible image quality and no input lag
LMAOing at everyone ITT
>>62207038
No, I just installed libreELEC on my old laptop from 2009, plays 1080p just fine, though the fan can be a bit annoying. I'm not going to buy/build anything fancy until I upgrade to a 4K TV and 4K content is plentiful and easy to come by.

>>62208458

>>62208633

>>62207268

>>62207268

stremio + pi
stremio + chromecast
>>62207038
I use my old PS3 as a stream box. I don't use it for much else.
>>62208766
You could use it for PS1 games from the store, couldn't you?
>>62208788
I could and do on occasion. I just don't play games all that often anymore.
>>62207038
Wetek Hub running LE
>>62208458
Just swap SD cards like it's a Gameboy. That's what I do.
>>62208179
That's fancy. How's it perform?
>>62207038
Streaming box?
All I use is a Wii U that I use with Plex from my home server.
>people are defending a shitty crt
At least get a Trinitron. Not to mention, HD content looks shit even on a HDCRT, worse on a 480i shitbox.
>>62207268
>chromecast
X96 just werks. No support or updates but cheap. 40 bucks for a year or so of free shit. Cant beat it.
>>62208458
You need to go in your RetroPie settings (the text menu thing) and install Kodi from the list of optional packages
After that you'll find Kodi in your ports section of the main RetroPie UI
>>62208862

Roku Ultra for my living room, Roku 3 (without voice search) at work, and a Roku Stick (newer gen) in the bedroom.
I was using a Chromecast (It was okay but hated that it couldn't be used standalone) and I recently bought an Xbox One to replace it. I don't regret it at all!
>>62208458
BerryBoot
at least get a widescreen tv
>>62207038
I remember watching youtube on a CRT. Those were the days.
>>62207038
do you post on /ck/? I feel like I saw this living room there once...
>>62209978
Not bad. Sounds like a hell of a media box assuming it's not too expensive.
>>62207068
Every time I get cheap tech from craigslist it has little bugs in it
>>62207038
>he has a 'streaming box' which spies on him
top cuck
>>62211661
